hey, if you DO end up calling the news crew, make sure to DVR that shit. nothing like watching someones rep go down the drain on live TV haha. might be worth mentioning to them the lady with the A/C problem as well. in the infamous words of SNL's sean conory, "Suck it trebek, suck it long and suck it hard!" take em for all their worth. |
Good luck and keep us posted on any updates you're permitted to share. Quote:
All warranty information specific to each VIN is managed through the MNA database. Dealers don't access it - regional claims advisors do. They keep running records of all warranty claims whether approved or denied. Previous claims can and do affect the outcome of future claims. But unless your car has been driven outside the country or considered a total loss through insurance, the warranty remains in effect. |
post in a local newspaper and screw with their business too |
good luck with everything. I thought that I had a tough time with my dealer closest to me when my 2010 was in the shop for a week, with them not knowing what is wrong with it, me saying there are problems with the turbo, them insisting it isn't. The next day I get a call that the gasket on the dp side was blown, and them insisting that it wasn't the turbo, and it was brought to them before for the same problem, but they couldn't reproduce the results. sorry for the rant, and know that dealers suck, but good luck. |

if there's one thing i've learned from MSF, its that when there is someone getting fucked over, every member here is willing to give their .02 -- be it absolutely terrible advice, or some of the best advice you can get from anybody... there are some great ideas to be had on here MSF knows how to ruin people's lives and dealer's reputations fuck mazda's stealerships -- they've NEVER done anything for me without trying to rape me i hate them so much |
Dude I wish I lived near you cause I would make some signs and picket the fuck out of that place ...... I mean every mother fucker that wants to go to that dealership goes through us and your story... Grab those fucks by the balls and squeeze as hard as you are angry!! I would seriously think about getting some guys from this forum or anyone that wants to stand against injustice in your area and picket them for at least a couple of days!! I wish I could help you dude, I really feel for you!! |
+1 i'm down to protest |
quick point if you have your original bridgestone potenza tires on the car obviously you did not beat on the car |

Good God! I don't know what I can say that hasn't already been said, but good luck. I think that you are in the right and that your warranty should cover it. Subbing for updates. |

If yours have 50% life after 20K miles, you have babied that car. That should be proof enough. |

I will say this though... i bought the car originally with inconclusive intentions of using it for car shows or using as daily driver and after like a few weeks of owning it ended up getting a 01 GTR R34 that suited me much better for car show purposes, so i retired my MP3 and finally started my turbo build on it and replaced it with the speed3. Legit, if i wanna beat on something i have several things that will suit my urge a thousand times better then the speed3 will, so i dont even bother doing it. |

^^ sounds like a man date i seriously cant wait till this shit gets resolved (in your favor obviously) i honestly think that Mazda stealerships have been fucking their customers over SO much -- i cant even imagine how much $ they've made off their customers that dont know shit about cars "excuse me, Miss, your blinker fluid is low and you're going to need to rotate your intake valves every 2500 miles" "OKAY What ever fixes her! That sound coming from the rear of my car was getting annoying!" "That'll be $1,200, please" yup |

My uncle owns a euro/jdm/american restoration/performance shop and automotive import export business so he has connects with outside vendors and international dealerships. The car was originally for some kid in upstate Connecticut that my uncle was mediating a deal with and i just happen to see the distro photos in the shop and was like damn i should get another one. The people found out exactly how difficult it is to get the car like legit street legal and decided not to get it so i just had my uncle import it for me instead, It was 15k including the shipping fees and epa bullshit you need to go through when you import stuff. The dealer it came form was called Kyoto Motors, in Shimogy ku ward of Kyoto Japan. My RX7 is JDM as well along with a few other cars i have owned Yeah dude i dont mind at all. you can facebook me too if you want if you have a facebook. i got pictures of pretty much everything on there Paul Dumas | Facebook Quote:

hope this works out for you. my warranty was "voided" for having "race parts" my stock turbo smoked within a month of me buying the car, took the car in 3 or 4 times stock (or with the mscai) and they "couldnt replicate the issue" i got a downpipe, filled the dealer parking lot with smoke. they voided my warranty. I bought a big turbo, pulled and built the motor. it worked out well for me, lol. |
Regarding clueless dealers voiding based on Mazda parts - I tried to have a dealer install a spin-on oil conversion kit that I brought in. They called me 30 min. later and said they'd install it but it would void my powertrain warranty because it didn't originally come on the car. I told them to forget it and he said "ok, we're just finishing up the oil change and your car will be done in a half hour." So this stupid fucker was going to re-do the oil change if I decided to have him install the spin-on? Or was he hoping to scare me off because he was too dumb to install it? ME: This is the correct part # for this car, right? DUMBASS: Yes. ME: and Mazda decided to upgrade to this part for the 2010's? DUMBASS: I think so. ME: why the fuck would Mazda make a part that voids your warranty? DUMBASS: Good question. What I'm getting at is that if they knew that the MSCAI was going to void you (which is bullshit) they should have told you before they put it on. After all, who in their right mind would void a warranty over a $300 part? Of course, in that case you would just go home and order one from SU, put it on and take it off if you had to. Also, what's the deal with people saying they are unable to read the OP?!? Haven't you guys ever read a fucking book in school? At least it was legible and not gibberish. |
originally he wrote a brick...then he reformatted it, which is what you see. and we have a bunch of whiny bitches |
Hey OP, I notice on your facebook that your hometown is Budapest. My finacee is Hungarian, from Szeged. |
dude good luck. it this was me i have no idea how to handle it. i would just freak the fuck out. i have an SSP on my car and i am scared to death Mazda is going to void a part of my warranty if i ever take it in. And i am hoping to get a TIP, SRI, and Cobb AP from the wife for Christmas. i'm a little scared now. Guess i will be sure to uninstall that stuff if i ever have to take it in. |

Same way if a regular 3 decides to swap on a ms3 rear sway, and he takes it in complaining about a clunking rear sway bar. It wont be warrantied because its not the part for that VIN. |
Keep us updated. News Channel 8 is always showing ads of them putting people on the spot so they might be the one to try if it comes to that. Good luck. What pisses me off the most is that it isn't just one or two of us with tranny problems, it's common. Mazda needs to figure out what we have...stiffer RMM and GOOD fluid will fix the problems. I'm on the fence about selling mine because of the horror stories like this one...and I'm at only 3000 with a slight grind. I could have gotten a 15 year old DSM with 130,000 miles for less than $3000 if I wanted a transmission that grinds and a company to not pay to fix it...and it would be faster right now, too. |
good luck to you. I would raise hell, or go find a better dealer. If all else fails, give Hamilton Mazda a call in Hamilton, NJ. They are straigh-up guys that dont care about doing warranty work. They are cool mofo's. I'm hoping to get my smoking turbo replaced at some point this winter. Can you start a thread with pics of all your cars? I'm pretty interested in your MP3...a good friend of mine had a blue one, that had a 60-trim on it for a long time, like 40,000 miles. Then he got paranoid about it blowing up, and ran a normal MSP stock turbo setup on it for a while. Then he sold it to a Mexican dude, with the spare shortblock and everything...I was kind of upset about it, lol. since he was the dude that got me to pay attention to Mazdas... |
UPDATES OP? lawyer contacted? threats made to dealer? news stations enticed to make a story yet? heh just read thru this entire thread this morning. Some grade A bullshit happening with that dealer man.. I hope everything works out for you. I wish I had a warranty, as mine is salvaged titled but I've been lucky enough not to have any fail happen yet... *fingers crossed* |
As far as I'm concerned, dealers are jackasses. I went in to get a diagnostic check done and came out with a laundry list of things that needed to be done that totalled to almost $800 dollars. I told them that I'd do it myself and only spend about $300. You need to get something in writing from the dealership. They should give you a checklist or a report that states what needs to be done and how much it'll cost. From there you can determine the incompetency of the dealership itself. It sucks that you have had this great relationship with them, but at this point they are just trying to screw you over. Plus, I'm not sure where I heard it but I thought I heard or read something that the MSCAI was no longer an approved mod by Mazda because it would cause a CEL. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's what I thought. |
what a horror story. good luck |
Wow... what BS. Any updates? |
Well im still waiting on a bunch of shit still so im still clueless as to what it going to happen, i finally got the car towed from the dealer to my house and maybe when its nice out in gonna tear everythign apart and take a look for myself exactly what went wrong. As the car was before dropping it off to the dealer: drivable only stuck in gear and making a weird noise. as the car is now after the dealer: No clutch, no brakes, no gear engages or disengages and the car wont start cause the starter isnt engaging, also they removed the intake and never put it back on as it was just sitting in the back seat. I spoke wiht the mazda rep when i was there and all it did was make me never wanna own a mazda product ever again even more so then before i talked to him. I spoke with the mazda rep in person and this what he told me ans yes these are direct quotes... Mazda Rep: "Do to the fact that you purchased an official mazdaspeed product though it be covered by a mazda warranty, the item itself only carries a 1 year 12k mile warranty and you have exceeded the 1 year and 12k so we are unable to warranty your vehicle" Me: "So let me get this straight... Because the mazdaspeed intake only has a 1 year 12k warranty and it was installed it completely cancels out the 10y 100k mile warranty i purchased?????" Mazda Rep: "Yes, This is because the mazdaspeed intake creates a substantial amount of extra horsepower and due to the extra wear and tear on the car by this extra power we can not warranty the vehicle past the 1y 12k after the date of instalation" Me: "Can you please define substantial?? I would hardly consider 4 extra hp a substantial increase in power and if so you shouldnt waaranty vehicles that have been driven in temps below 30 degrees, you get even more extra power out of the car" Mazda Rep: "the mazdaspeed intake was specially calabrated and designd for the mazdaspeed 3 to increase power by up to 25%. This increase is what mazda and myself would consider substantial and air temperature doesnt effect the power of the vehicle only modifications do" Me: "Do you have any more???" Mazda Rep: "....... More??? More what??" Me: Drugs Mazda Rep: "Drugs?? Im not quite sure i understand your question" Me: "Yeah drugs, you have to high or fucked up on something to tell me an intake adds 70 Horsepower and air temps dont effect power at all" Mazda Rep: "I dont think theres anything more i can help you with. We are unable to fix your vehicle as its out of warranty and malfucntioned due to the extra power created by the aftermarket intake assembly and there is nothing that we can do for you" Me: "At least if your not gonna fix the car could you please tell me mazdas secret?? I wanna know the specific details on how they designed an intake that adds 70 hp so i can replicate it and become a blllionare making magical intake systems that create more added hp then some turbos and superchargers.." Mazda Rep: "I think were done here, you can pick up your keys at the service counter" Its just astonishing that People get jobs in feilds they dont know shit about.. I think im gonna apply to be a brain surgeon tomorrow, appearently in this day and age it just dont matter if you know about anything your doing. |
i would have punched him in the uterus get a fucking lawyer get the fucking news fuck this shit makes me so fucking mad From mazda website Quote:
or have them give you 5 grand back for the warranty you paid for when you purchased the car that they are basically stealing from you |
Quote:
Get the lawyer man... |
Get use to it, most people that work for car companies don't shit about cars and don't care to learn about the cars that their company makes. It's really stupid how people don't care anymore about their work they just see this as a job that pays. |
ummm, the 1yr 12k warranty on the MSCAI is not for the vehicle, its for the crafstmanship of the part itself. the cold air intake carries a "Green" warranty. this means you just have to install it on the vehicle it was intended for. it doesnt even have to be installed by a dealer. you cannot install a cold air intake for a mazda3 on a mazdaspeed3 and maintain the same "Green" warranty is all that means. MazdaUSA > Mazdaspeed Accessories Click "Warranty Level: Green" for more info. |

If they broke 3rd and 6th, it will not go in any gear and they will ASSume the clutch is gone. You have multiple reports of transmission issues with them. Got to suck it up and get a good lawyer You will also want a different shop to inspect your care prior to tear-down to see if they dealer caused issues, did anything, or to even give a professional diagnosis of the true fault. Independent inspection by ASE Certified Shop throws more weight than you in your driveway saying what broke. I have been down that road before. Shop #1 did not tighten brake drum on rear of my 1971 VW beetle. 20 miles later, wheel, drum attached, came off on the freeway, bounced around the fenderwell (beetle was slammed, tire was taller, keeping it from flying across lanes of traffic. Towed to Shop #2. Professional diagnosis of problems, shown to shop #1. Sued, court saw paperwork and pics from shop #2, we won. You are getting dicked, and a judge will throw out the dealer-installed add-on as a cause. Magnusson Moss Act will require proof the CAI caused the fail, too. Lawyer up. It might not cost much, but you can sue to recover their costs, I think. |
Yeah. lawyer up, eat them alive. |
Wow that's fucking bs dude. Ive never had a problem with them before and they're even replacing my fuel pump because its "louder than normal" and im tbe. Wasn't your car in an accident and that's why you have the hood now? I remember your car there last winter and that's what mike said. Maybe that accident damaged it Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk |
