User Axlestore is DriveTech America, who makes a ton of stuff. One of em, axles. $140 shipped for the pair-NEW. This is for 2007-2009 Mazdaspeed 3.

@Grumpyjap; had mentioned this elsewhere that he has had good luck with em. Rock Auto is junk, break apart, etc.

So since my driver's side boot is torn, I got both for $140 on the way. I will keep you all posted on my outcome.

I was using the driver side dta axle and it was handling 350whp fine. Something tore the boot and caused it to take a shit. Found another axle here in sc from parks auto with lifetime warranty. We will see how it holds up after I get my engine back in.

I used the DTA axle on the drivers side. I still have a brand new passenger side in the basement. Lasted 3 months and started clicking. Had to be replaced this weekend with an OEM.

I cant keep going through axles.

6's NEED an option for rear axles. Right now it's DSS or OEM. Only cheap option is used OEM which are a bitch to find.

I bought these probably a year ago. Only swapped my driver side but so far, it's been great. Over 15k miles on em so far and no problems. I have the passenger one in storage in case.

Just to clarify, you bought the same axles that Raider posted? If so, what are your mods just to get more of an idea how they'll hold up for others. Thanks

Yup same axles and I'm fully bolted.

Axles arrived yesterday, but too late for my guy to install em. Probably next week.

That said, I contacted them for the MS6 rear axles, and they will look into getting them produced. I told him there is a high demand.

You should ask about driveshafts too. There are probably more people here with busted grease-boots than are willing to admit as much.

I have not even gone as far to research if they make any.

My passenger side half shaft boot is torn somewhere. Haven't been able to see where but I got green grease all over the inside of my wheel. I was gonna rockauto it but now I'm wondering if they're poor quality?

Also, if you have trouble getting the CV axle out (driver's side) rent the CV axle puller attachment and slide hammer from Autozone. Use a dremel to cut out the opening a little bit because it's just a hair too small to fit over our thick shafts.

I ordered these last week and went to install my passenger one on monday and I dont know if anyone else who has these can report the same findings or not, but the dta axles are definately smaller, and lighter than oem. Not sure if they are made of a better quality material possibly? But they appear the same size as whats on my 05 mz3




I did install it, and at this point can not say there are any issues with it, other than possible longevity since its not as beefy. But if those who have had these for a year or longer can attest to them being smaller like this and havent seen a failure that would set my mind at ease

I don't see any problem with them being not as beefy as one manufacturer can use higher quality materials especially in low volume parts, but I do with them being shorter. Maybe you've got the MS6 axle?

As for gen1 vs. gen2, they have the same tranny and diff and the only thing that was concerning was the distange between the diff and wheel hub, so if the axle length was good on one side most probably is good on the other.

I dont believe its shorter, I think the cv boots are just more relaxed with 170k miles on them. that inner boot on the old one is stretched out from being pulled out on when still bolted into the spindle

raider, what part of FL are you in? there's a company called raxles in gainesville. they rebuild them. i called and they said they're thinking of firing up a line for the 3's, "especially the sport version". the guy knows there is a market for quality axles and they're thinking of making them.

maybe if someone local offered assistance, they'd be more likely to move on it?
