ACT street (organic) replacement going for the double fail or what? ALREADY SEARCHED So I may purchase a ACT street clutch with the combo flywheel. I ALREADY searched, I guess it's hit or miss whether or not it starts slipping early on. Just curious if anyone has looked further into this matter. What are the amount of failures with this? And if this is the case should I just settle for the 6 puck. |
in before Rodrigo's FUCK ACT!!!!! in big red letters probably |
Yeah seeing his post was actually the big reason I was deciding against one, and a couple threads about them. I also checked corksport and two people left reviews seeing it's junk but I feel like it's the same people from this website IDK |

I did the ACT 6 puck race clutch in mine and i didnt have any problems with the clutch, what i did have issues with was with the slave cylinder compensating for the extra pressure and snapping the push rod. after the install the pedal became about 6 times harder to push so i had to use an 06 maxima slave and put a new end on the hydraulic line and it fixed the issue. The pedal stilled stayed hard to press though. |
no issues here and i've got the organic street clutch just make sure you get the new one with the heavy duty pressure plate...i have like 3-4000 miles if not more on it so far no issues love it pedal is stiffer than stocker as well. |

i had picked up a new ACT twin disk for my dad's Z06, haven't installed it yet but it looks well built, so when i found a factory refurbished street disk for the MS3 on fleabay i bit. seller said it was installed incorrectly and burned up in a few thousand miles. i called ACT and asked of any special instructions, they said just do what the manual says, and drive 300-600 street miles before flogging it. or several hard slips in high gear, but that is not the best method. checked with the local tranny expert, and he said definitely if it is not broken in correctly it will fail. most common issue he sees. i have about 1000 miles so far no issues. slightly more pedal pressure than stock, grabs lower in the travel than stock. i like it. stock clutch still looks like new, 35k miles on it. |
Thanks I ended up getting the six puck just haven't got around to installing it yet |
