Alternative Battery Relocation Locations OK, we have all seen battery relocation on the MS3, and although thought I am not to that point yet, I am trying to determine the best location for the relocation when I get to that point. You are probably asking yourself, "why does this chump think he's too cool to put it in the hatch?" I have considered that and don't think that is the best route for me for a couple of reasons. First, the battery sitting in the hatch doesn't look particularly "clean". Evidence: http://i142.photobucket.com/albums/r...C/IMG_0652.jpg Secondly, I think it would interfere lifting the spare cover and make it tough to get to the spare. The last thing you need once you already have a flat is a headache getting to the spare. Finally, it takes up a fair bit of space. QwkEvo did an extremely clean battery relocate to the spare location. http://i429.photobucket.com/albums/q...ocation001.jpg Thread But I really don't want to give up my spare. I do occasionally drive to see family about 5 hours away. In rural Texas, it can be quite a hike to the next service station and or hours before getting a tow truck. I need my donut. So to my question, has anyone relocated the battery to an alternative location or seen a very clean battery relocation that maintains the spare tire and tools? I have considered under the seats, the passenger floorboard, even under the car but can't see to find something that looks clean. All opinions welcome. Thanks. |
let the battery ride shotgun |
@aggierandy; I should have an HTP battery tray for the Braille B2105 next week or so, if you want to you are welcome to stop by and try the setup on your car to see how it looks and how much space it saves. I know trays for the MS3 are different but space saving should be almost the same. I got the battery at home and it is ridiculously small, think 140 cubic in. vs. 500 cubic in. stock battery. |
Should be some space in the corners of the rear bumper Tapatalking |

I dont know about the ms3, but I am going to eventually move mine to the drivers front fender area where the p/s cooler is. I bet I can run a full size battery there too. Just have to fuse it because that is a area subject to shorting in a wreck. |
