Another CP-e MM

I received my new MM from Palerider who runs the CPE Saloon and Store. Shipping was pretty good once it got out the door. There were some issue with availability but that was out of Randy's hands.

First impressions of the mount were "holy shit", that's huge!(That's what she said). For anyone who has handle this thing I think you know what I mean. When you put it beside the stocker it's pretty pathetic.

Install? It's probably the easiest mod you can do to this car short of changing the interior lights. With my brand new aluminum jack I got fro Christmas I had it in in under 20 minutes.

Vibrations? Yes, coming from the CS inserts I noticed a big difference. This being my first MM upgrade ever I don't what is normal but vibrations definitely increased. Not enough for me to care though. Mostly at idle and then again around 3000rpm for whatever reason.

Shifting? Big difference. Everything feels more solid. It's like you have a direct line to the transmission now, none of that spongey bullshit I had gotten use to.

You can also feel the difference every time you hit the gas. I just don't feel that engine bumping back and forth anymore.

I would give it a 9/10 and think it's essential for anyone even considering light mods. I'm knocking off 1 point for the minimal vibrations but consider is a small price to pay for what you get in return. I really want to downplay the vibrations. They're there, but who cares!

another great review of a great product.

Thats what I've been trying to tell everyone... The MM make a huge difference in shifting, among other things.

spheed3 01-08-2009 11:03 AM

Thanks for making my waiting seem justified. Can't wait till mine shows up.

gsrtype1 01-08-2009 11:07 AM

Nice!

I've put about 2k miles on my cp-e mm and the vibes have decreased a lot. I was real pissed when I first installed it because it vibed like crazy, but now it's just a tad more than the cs inserts. I love it though. I can't wait to test this at the track.

Hmm. Sounds like something I might be interested in.

How long was the wait time to get one of these? I'm impatient as hell.

That piece is sexy (again, that's what she said).

I waited a few months to get one. Or at least I was pestering Palerider with PM's looking for it. I think CP-e has gotten their supplier issues worked out so I doubt it would be that long again.

PM Palerider.

I have the old Blue Mount which I love, but I am ordering this mount as well. Just an FYI, you mentioned shifting improvement. Dont know if you have the TWM Bushings, but pair your mount up with the TWM's, and shifting this car is an entirely new feel.

On my list of Pros and Cons on this car, I have a monster list of Pros, but the #1 Cons are listed below:

1. Sloppy Shifting, just horrible stock. After CPE Mount and TWM, it's like Buttah...
2. Visibility - Can't See Shit out of this car, I do have Limo tint, but damn, I feel blind at night
3. Stereo - Bose Smose... I know Bose makes some decent equipment, but this is not one of them. Crappy Stereo. But, I guess I cant gripe, I bought my car for 21K... 08 Speed3 GT

Peace...

Are you coming from CS inserts? Is it a big improvement from the CS inserts?

I went from cs inserts to the cp-e mm and I think it was a huge improvement. No more wheelhop on the street. I still have to test this at the track where I wheelhopped with the inserts. That'll be in a few months, but I can't wait.
