Another engine noise thread, or something loose?

What's up all. I'm wondering if any of you have heard something similar to the sound in the video. I just noticed this noise last week when idling. No KR showing up anywhere.

Sound like something is loose or something internal to the engine?

Doesn't sound like the VVT noises I've read about and listened to in other threads. I also checked my chain to make sure it was still tight and that's good. Any other ideas?

FYI I'm at 43k miles if it's relevant at all.

So just to be clear on my part, the idler is what you're thinking I should be looking at?

Also I looked at my belt and it has what looks like a crack down the center the entire length of it. Is that a sign of something being loose or normal wear and tear?

Again I'm at 42k miles so doesn't seem normal to me for the mileage.

The tear could be caused by either of the things you mentioned. Replace it.

While it's off, check ALL of the pulleys listed above -- not just the idler. Give 'em a spin -- see if they squeak or rattle. Check for loose or missing bolts, etc...

Ive got the same noise with mine. Let me know when if you figure out what is causing the noise

So I ended up replacing my tensioner pulley and it seems to have resolved the problem.

I noticed that my serpentine belt had a split down the middle of it that ran the length of the belt which didn't seem right. When I pulled off the tensioner pulley there were small rocks stuck in it which had caused the tear and I think contributing to if not causing the noise.
