Another Fantasic Problem with my MS6!!!!

So I havent posted here in a while but i am on all the time, and everyone on here thanks for your help anytime i have needed it ...anyway, long time ago i had a post about a question with a wierd clunk noise when i let out the clutch only when cold and when it warmed up nothing. Not much of a big deal so i let it slide, just thinking it was the grease in the right front axle which there is a TSB for. My car 06 Speed 6 With only 52500 Miles on it, just recently i have been hearing a noise that sounded like it was coming from the right front of the car only really noticed it from 40 mph and up. being a tech i assumed it was a bearing not a big deal right? I assumed wrong. i do know these cars have a TSB about the trasfer case leaking so every oil change i check the oils from these points on the transfer case. no leaks. today i decided to put it on my lift and check the noise. i see very, very minor seapage from the transfer case. i check the oil and decided to do a service, when i drained the oil it might has well be the color of my car (titanium gray). My bearings in the trasfer Case are Gone!!!! the noise i heard when i drove it in the air was so much worse then on the ground. And yes there was plenty of oil in there. So to help anyone out on these forums, if you here A clunk GET IT CHECKED. or anything that is sounding like you have this problem

So inturn i called my trans Guy and found out that there is a major problem with the Bearings in the transfer Case and what happens is that the bearing wear out and the gears actually shift slightly giving the gears a different wear pattern aventually Distroying our transfer case. So i have 80w 90 GL-5 Which i put back in noise is less but the problem is already there, fantastic. and just so you know they do not make replacement parts aftermarket for these (unless someone can point me in the right direction for new)and to get another one my cost is about $1400 not including labor. with this problem our 2-3 gear problem, my turbo leaking, and the vvt problem(not gone yet) wondering if i should just trade this thing in...I LOVE MY CAR, but with these extremly Major problems my mind is starting to sway. anyway figured i would share this pittiful Trans story with you.

BTW using Redline MT-90 In trans And i was using Mobil 1 Syth 80w 90 in the transfer Case
hope you have better luck with this then me... If i repair i will re post how much it cost me and maybe even some pictures on rebuild if i can get the parts:grumble:

Sprry guys just relized i posted this in the Speed 3 Section....wow i'm a retart..

Maybe we can Move this to the speed 6 Section..i don't know how to do it

There are parts to repair the tcase, but if you need new gears and bearings its cheaper to buy a new one. If it is just the bearings or just the gears then it would be cheaper to rebuild.

You can probably source better bearings from Timkin

Mine does it whenever i let off the gas. I do not see any leaks should i assume i have the same problem as you?

Mine haz been clunking for 5 years with no problems. I upgraded my mounts and it made it a little less noticeable.
