Okay why is the "longevity" in question and how to you know it wont last as long as stainless? For all anyone knows it might be/ probably stronger than stainless.

Its in question because its just mild steel thats ceramic coated. That coating is not bullet proof. Its also not really beneficial for a mid pipe. as soon as that thing gets scratched its going to rust, and if the inside isnt coated, then it will last no longer than any crap pipe. where as stainless is pretty much guaranteed to last the life of the car.

this header was ceramic coated. lasted 4 to 5 years

There's not enough detail here to say it's a POS or not. Call and ask SLS if you really want to know, I doubt it's worse than stainless steal. And besides once my car hits 60k it's gone, thats about 2years or less.

Who said it was "mild steal" who told you that?

i didnt say it was a POS. i personally wouldnt waste money upgrading exhaust that wasnt stainless (manifolds excluded). they coated it so it wont rust right away....not for the heat retaining benefits(which are negligible on a midpipe). like you said, youre getting rid of the car soon, so it wont affect you.

Dude Dude is the TP in YET, Mines somewhere in the country in route from UTAH!!! Frigg'in scratched up .... rusted ....ceramic coated ... mild steel >>> FTW

PS::: YEP that's what a header looks like::: I see signs of header wrap on the tubes , which holds in moisture and promotes corrosion.
I will agree that coated headers when scratched will start to show rust, My coated headers have been in my truck since 04 banged them around on install and engine removal, hitting them with a wrench when taking out plugs, scratched then against the frame rails on install. Headers are one thing, always getting hit when working under the hood BUT ask yourself HOW many times will you be working in the area where the TP is to scratch or damage it??? I worry more about getting hemroids that a rotted test pipe

why do you all care about leaks when it's after the dp?

if the test pipe leaks wouldnt you have less back pressure which is good lol....

i know my street unit test pipe didnt totally fit perfect.

Got it - installed!!

The piece itself is very solid / well made. Install wasn't too hard because a buddy of mine that works at shop let me use one of the lifts. It comes exactly as shown on the photo, no extra bolts, no hanger, just the pipe. It bolts up directly to the stock flanges using the stock bolts; perfect fitment!

The hardest part is getting the factory bolts off but after than it’s really straight forward. I wouldn’t recommend trying to do this install without a lift however as you’re going to want as much leverage as you can get.

From start to finish the install took about 45minutes and well worth it! When you see the restriction of the stock pipe you’ll understand why there are gains to be had.

Upon start up you notice immediately more bass in the exhaust side; give it a little throttle even more. Once you’re moving and revving past about 3500rpms you really notice the increased power and it sounds great, a lot like a WRX but smoother.

There’s defiantly about 10-15hp, perhaps a bit more power from this mod, it’s a must in my opinion. Throttle response is improved as well. Overall I’m very happy about this mod and highly recommend! I'm not sure if I got more power from the intake or this but either way wow!

Oh almost forgot, it's probably about 10lbs lighter than the factory pipe so that's even more reason to get one
