anybody using a HPS cai

I was looking @ CAi and Sri.. I came across the HPS cai for the 07-08 MS3 I am sure it will work on the 2009 correct. I can get a good price under $200 for the CAI .. my next choice is the CP-E cai or NANO just wondering if anyone on here has one... Saw a dyno result and it was impressive!!:woohoo:

Nothing wrong with it, but I don't think it comes with an air straightener.

I TAKE IT BACK, IT'S A PIECE OF SHIT (THANKS SCATT).

If money is an issue, go Cobb SRI or CP-E Inlet, if not, get with Mark @ Streetunit and get the CP-E CAI.

Streetunit.com man, go. NOW.

friend bought this, helped him install it.

the clamp for intake to inlet heated up and melted some ecu wires

dont buy shit for your car off ebay.

check out the CPe nano SRI
fit and finish great, price excellent
it takes about 20 minutes to install or to remove for a dealer visit if thats an issue
the best bang for your buck and less money than a cai
similar hp gains as a cai and no worries about the problem of hydrolock which sometimes happens to cai

give palerider a PM and he will hook you up.

also, don't forget to swap out your rear MM
stock one will eventually fail and cause problems

what year and how many miles on your MS3

Good feedback OTAY the HPS is off the list, I think I am down to the CP-e NANO sri and the CP-e X-cel cai and WTF is a MM .... Is that short for Mickey Mouse
I just figured it out (Motor Mount) how does that help in the drivability sector???

huffentuff09 06-24-2009 06:10 AM

whoo whoo 13 posts Hi my name is Dennis and I am a POST WHORE!!

2008speed3 06-24-2009 06:38 AM

the rear motor mount on this car will eventually fail
the mm is quick and easy to install and will improve drivability

Back forth back forth in out in out , I am ready to burn one:phillyb: another newbie question about the MM , I was at the Street unit side saw a Streetunit Rear MM for $129 then I saw the Cp-e for $139 and in the discripstion it just said MM and not REAR MM what is the right one .. Are there different brands ??? Now, I was all set to get the NANO SRI now I am thinking about the added benifit of cooler air and looking at the CAI What the FUCK . Then I get this E-Mail back from the seller on FLEABAY ( I asked a Question) about the $169.00 HPS and he tells me , he doesn't have one for the 09MS3 Clear the air is the 09 and 08 exactally the same and use the same cai ??? HELP I've fallen and need more Power:Thinkingof_:

yeah the rear motor mount will break at and the trans mount will break both in under 1000 miles :)

unless you drive normally and without monsterous tires and 20 psi :P

2008speed3 06-24-2009 08:16 PM

i am currently using the CPe nano sri and a CPe 75 duro rear MM
i installed both at my 5k oil change
no issues yet with my car
i'm coming up on 10k and will be adding a bpv, inlet and maybe a test pipe
i'm only doing bolt on stuff because it easy to remove for a dealer visit
you have sufficient post to pm, so give palerider a shout
i have never bought anything from any forums before but this guy is straight up
