axle problems anyone here has had issues with either of the axles clicking under medium acceleration or deceleration by going from like 3rd to 2nd gear w/o applying brakes?? I'll be checking the axle and nut hopefully this weekend...it does usually about 2-4 clicks under acceleration (medium) and 2-3 under deceleration with gear changes. this is will happen with either wheels straight or turned so I dont believe its a cv joint. Anyways , all you guys can look forward to all the shit that happens to my car eventually...52k miles of nothing but abuse. go Cobb!!!!!! (fuck them) |
Yeah, when turning the CV joints clicks if they were bad. Maybe bearing on the passenger side axle (on half shaft). |
I just recently got my cv joint replaced . Had about 15,000 miles on the car. |
you still havn't checked the nuts like i told you to a month ago? fuck lenny. if it was the bearing ont he half shaft it would have much more noise all the time since its constently moving. |
i know ronnie, dude I work 10 -11 hours a day and am on call for another 12 hours at night...I get so burned out with work that when the weekend comes (I'm on call 24hrs a day Sat and Sun) all I wanna do is fucken forget about anything and everything problem related. |
I am a couple metallic like clicks usually when I back up out my driveway in the morning. It sometimes happends when I take off in first gear too. It seems to have gone away mostly, but I get it now and then and its usually 3-5 clicks or so. Does yours sound like this? |
thats exactly what it sounds like. I will take a look under the car this weekend coming up. I also saw a tsb for 05 mazda3 where the sysmptoms are identical to what I describe and the solution is in the form of a bolt and washer that secures the axle ......betelguese has the tsb. |
grease them with a moly coat carbon grease its the same thing i told you earlier most manufacuers have this tsb and thats a quick easy fix for it...on the mating surface on the outer joint where it goes through the spines.... |
I have to say that we have seen a few of these now as well. I don't think the axles can break... we have been doing 5500 RPM clutch drops trying to break the Traction Bars and nothing has happened to the axles. The poor clutch has about had it, but the axles are happy as a clam. |
