Default Bad News on the Medieval PMM V2...

Had some time today so I jumped into action. Started on the Medieval PMM V2, sorry to say Medieval is gonna have make a V3 or something else.
Looks promising so far....

Just sitting on the frame and engine studs thru the engine bracket, it's off at the frame area.

Bolted the bottom down first using a screw driver to pry forward and thread the bolts in, the bushing is already deforming and I haven't gotten the top nuts in the engine bracket.

I can't get one nut down due to the hole placement is to close to the vertical part of the bracket.

The engine bracket is missing the angle it needs to sit properly on the engine mount area. The bushing placement is to far forward.

On the V1 the angle is there.

Without the angle the front of the engine bracket is bottomed out but the rear of it there is a gap. If I was to torque the nut down the bushing will deform more and/or cut.

Medieval what do you want me to do with these?

That's too bad. They tried really hard to rectify the problems with the first version. Just not enough development going on with these parts.

Honestly this is horrible. I can not rely on my employees to do anything right. The first few were rushed out the door and built by my employees. After I finished the soildworks model I turned the prints over to my employees and headed to visit my ill mother.I have had it with them and will make them myself. Give me a few days.

It will be fixed no question about it. It is my fault that I left town to see my mother after her heart attack and left it to my employees to get this done right. I'm beyond furious at this point with my guys. I spoke with Bio and we narrowed the problem down to the upper bracket. I already know what happend. My guys welded it out of the jig and the heat pulled and twisted the tab. Furious is the best way to discribe my feelings right now. 10 were sent out the door and I already have had 6 people install theirs and not have any issues. So with all hope I'm hoping Bio's is the only one like this.

I think this falls under the..u need to take your time before you send parts out. we had this discussion with ptp over his freeze plugs for meth. doesnt do ANYONE any good to have quick parts that dont work. so please, take your time and get it right. reputations are built in years , but lost in minutes.

Well this sucks that it doesn't fit. How ever on the bright side a very positive bright side is that medieval is already taking care of business. I don't think you should blame him for a rushed product. He has excepted the blunt of his mistake on the chin, and has posted. Unlike other vendors who scamper into the wind.
sorry dude they don't fit but hella job on fixing it.........

I agree fully Lenny. This design was first and tested last year. I have a good feeling this is isolated to just Bio. It is not good to see it happen, but is a slight relief. All the motor mounts are first digitized with a CMM. We then load those numbers into Solid Works and build from there. The measurements are off the stock bolt and housing location. This issue here is just plain unacceptable. Monday Medieval will be one man shorter.

it's never good to hear that someone will be walking the plank, esp in these tough times...

I'm patiently awaiting my PMM v2, and I will install it and see the process thru. I got on the horn and will be getting my mechanic to put the stock mount on in the meantime...here's my fingers crossed, hoping the other mounts will be okay...

This is getting ridiculous...

Hey bio...at least your car is still driveable with stock mounts right? I hope so, or I'd be pissed if I haven't been able to drive my car because of a 2x faulty mount...

From all the pictures I've seen of the various welded mm's it seems like alot of these problems could be solved with a well made welding jig. I haven't seen these in person but it looks like from the pictures that some of the missalignment is in the welds.

This is getting ridiculous...

Hey bio...at least your car is still driveable with stock mounts right? I hope so, or I'd be pissed if I haven't been able to drive my car because of a 2x faulty mount...
Always have back up parts or stockers to fall back on for the time being.

I understand you modeled it in solid works, but did you do any test fitting on an actual MS3 or make a jig to keep the spec's?

i blew my mount up a few times, then finally i got fed up with it and didn't want to bother waiting for anythhing, so i cut everything out and window welded it w/ braces in the front and rear, and i have ZERO issues out of it.

also i will buy the cpe mounts when they come out.

I'd rather buy something that works the first time, and sacrifice some customer service rather than have to deal with replacing a mount TWICE.

Good customer service is great but something as crucial as a motor mount being bad over and over again...no thanks. There are many parts I would tolerate mistakes on but that's not one of them. Having to her "ooops...we'll get to fixing that in revision 3.12a right away" when pertaining to a motor mount is a very, VERY bad thing when it's your car. Imagine something like this happening on a tire...would you tolerate good customer service only if your new tired failed twice in a row?

I've broken my passenger one as well. Fell apart in three pieces and looked like a broken cookie once I took pressure off it to replace it with another OEM mount.. Only reason my motor didn't drop was cause I had the TT 4th mouth kit.

Yeah I had the AWR 88 rear trans and the TTM. For all I know that TT mount being there put added stress on the passenger side mount and caused it to fail the way it did. But the fucking thing looked like someone dropped a grenade on it.....
