Bent Rod? Ok so after reading about clutch vibrations, and how they are the first signs of a bent rod, I decided I better press down an inch or two and see if I felt any. Nothing at idle at the red light, thought everything was cool...driving down the highway I again pressed inch or two and felt small amout of vibration...nothing like rattling my foot off the pedal or anything. I hear no knocking under the hood at all either...im going to be doing a compression test and measuring piston height to make sure im not in trouble. I would have never been concerned about my clutch pedal vibrating if I didnt read about it on here....either saved me my block or just made me paranoid. Only mods I have are cobb intake, and cobb rmm (cobb ots stage 1 map). Although im finding out previous owner did have more than that...to what extent im not sure. Ive put 12,000kms on it since buying it last year. Also my TO bearing might be going as I hear noise changing when pressing/depressing clutch at idle. Maybe this is what im feeling? Or motor mount? Ill post up my compression test and piston height results when im done. |
Mine has had a very minor vibration for a long time but I am fairly certain it comes from the motor mounts (jbr88 and cs tm insert) |

Miles on clutch/car? Vibrations in pedal while car is in motion or coming from a stop? |
Press the pedal in while cruising and if the pedal has vibrations at highway speeds your motor might in fact be hurt |
Yea my vibrations are very minimal def just road/rmm related. If you feel the pedal pulsing though it is probably rod related |

You don't have a bent rod. |

With a bent rod it will vibrate to the point your foot would hurt. Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk |
Ok im starting to feel better bout this. I will still be doing compression test and measuring piston heights. I'll post up my results. |
I freak out some times to when I feel mine vibrate, damn near have a heart attack. If you had a bent rod, you would not be asking us, you would be telling us. |
Do a dig from 1-6th then post back with results... Some 5th + 6th gear load at WOT should determine if you have a bent chicken leg lol |
Lmao what a harsh way to figure it out |
best* lmao |
I agree with @btstarcher; , It's not bent. I barely bent my (see avitar) and my pedal felt like I had ABS on steroids when I barely touched it. |
Yeah I believe its normal. I get the same shit, but its only when I'm on the throttle as well. If I let off and lightly press on it, it doesn't vibe really. I attribute it to moving parts of the engine and motor mounts. |
normal, i got a little vibration in my pedal...noticed it about 50,000 miles ago..then i added a 88 duro tranny mount to really feel the vibes...hell I can make the pedals vibrate if I play the right song on the stereo lol |
