Best CBE to add to a CP-e Downpipe for sound I have a PG manifold, CP-e downpipe and MS cat-back exhaust. I'm really unhappy with the sound (i.e., too loud, lost it's unique tone, sounds like any other loud 4 cylinder) after I added the PG manifold and CP-e dp, which I added both at the same time. I've read on other threads that others have noticed this too. I'd like to switch out my cat-back exhaust to solve this. Has anyone changed their cat-back exhaust to solve this and are you happy with it? Does the CP-e cat-back exhaust not have this problem when it's combined with the CP-e dp and PG manifold? Thanks |
Speed3shon has a cp-e downpipe and a GT-3071 (which totally changes the sound of the exhaust) on the stock cat back and it sounds NAAAAAAAAAAASTY. Nice and deep. I'd say go back to stock cat back if you are looking for a mean but subdued sound. If that isn't an option, maybe look into a Borla? Performance wise, there's not much to be gained from the cat back. |
get hks , borla sucks its 2,5" diameter so why to waste money if stock ist also 2,5' |
The manifold is what changed the pulsing tone to more of a droning tone. |
i like mine with hks - i don't have a mani though. |
Corksport. |
exhaust depot! |
straight pipe!! |
get a cb that has a resonator that may be it |
i would go with Corksport, CP-E or Exhaust Depot. The COBB CBE is going to be a great product but its very expensive and very quiet |
Cobb seems like a great sounding unit, but I think you can spend your money better elsewhere. Exhaust Depot has a good rep, but they don't have a CBE available yet -- so if your willing to wait a little, then this might be the best choice. I personally prefer the sound of the Corksport CBE -- check out clips on youtube. Although to be honest with you, I'm not sure how much changing the CBE will give you back that unique tone your looking for...you might have to get rid of the manifold if your more concerned with sound over power. |
+1 |
Thanks for your help... plenty of options. |
the manifold is what changed the sound |
GHL is where its at, its horrible fitment and poor construction is amazing. but its ok the sound makes up for its poor fitment to my cs test pipe. |
