Best test pipe? Im looking for some extra sound and a little performance so im going with a test pipe what company's is the best i bought a turbo xs one earlier and cancelled my order as i heard they do not fit right. Also do some downpipes include a test pipe as my friend told me they do. Thanks everyone. |
ebay. no fitment issues and cheap. its just a pipe, so as long as it fits you are good to go |
Cobb and CP-E are full lenth dp's that include the testpipe. Also some of the ebay ones. (Peter North and Jon Dough are also full length dp's.) |
Does the CnT Racing one include a DP it looks as if it does |
Don't know why OP cancelled the order for the Turbo XS. Fit, finish, quality on mine were absolutely first class. It even came with a step down from 3 inch to our stock CBE and all nuts, bolts, etc. Now, to be sure, I did buy the complete catless dp/rp combo, so the forward end of my test pipe section does attach directly to the TurboXS catless downipipe. But the kit even had the necessary piece (unused) to connect it to a stock dp. I like this setup very much. Both the dp and the rp sections have their own flex joints which makes installation a lot easier. OP, if you plan to install a downpipe later, you might want to make sure that your race pipe or test pipe does fit properly to the downpipe. |

i think the testpipe that delivers the best sound is the Corksport. all of their exhaust piece sounds bomb. but all the testpipes out there are good. even the ebay tp |

If you know a legit muffler shop, just have them make you one. It cake for them, then again, I wouldn't know the emission laws in Maryland. |
I have a corksport one. Its made a nice upgrade. But they all cost about the same and are pretty much the same. Go UR or Corksport |
I previously had the Corksport DP and TP combo. Decided to go back to stock DP with Corksport TP and the car still sounds great. Only set back was having to order the CS spacer to make sure the TP fit properly. According to CS they have revised the desing so you don't need the spacer. |

I'm also in MD and in the same position as you (wanting race pipe / 2nd cat delete). Let me know how it goes with that Midas shop, I may be next in line. |
I have a brand new in box street unit test pipe with all hardware and directions I'll be listing in the next couple days, pm me if interested. |
ebay test pipe.. comes with donut gasket too.. do it. Its just a hallow pipe.. |
First has corksport TP and visually it looked great. But had issues with fitment with my stock CBE and my UR CBE. Went through 2 TPs with them trying to fix it. I ended up getting a UR test pipe and had no issues with fit. |

But if that is ALL you are going to do with your exhaust, then just about any test pipe will do provided fit is good. |
I would buy the shiniest one in case someone crawls under your car to see it. |

From my research here, it looks like CS and UR are the best bets. I want one with hangers so my shit isn't bouncing around. They are there for a reason. |
I tried ordering the cs and it was on backorder twice, same thing happened to my buddy. We both went with street unit and were very happy with fitment. |
really? its just a pipe with two flanges |
The CS test pipe comes in two version now due to poor fitment issues a couple of years ago. The original CS pipe was designed for their and other after market 3" cat backs. It fit poorly to the stock 2.5" Catback. CS now has a version for the stock CB that fits well from what I have read. I have also read good things about the cheap e-bay pipes. Quote:
