Blackstone Amsoil
 

Hey guys. Didn't want to revive a dead thread, and this is the only one I saw when searched: UOA for Amsoil 5w40 - Mazdaspeed Forums

Anybody run Amsoil 5w-40 and have a Blackstone oil analysis they can post up ? I currently run Rotella T6 but have heard magical things about Amsoil from subie and si owners... So I'm curious. Thanks!

youll be fine with AMSOIL. I use it, no problems. I think the majority of people run T6 because of availability and price. That and its a badass oil for our engines. I just happen no be friends with the local dealer here so it comes out about the same in price for me. There should be some threads around here for the UOA for a few kinds of oil people are using on this engine.

Overkill for 3k-3500 mile OCI's

There are a few UOA's on BITOG but I didn't see any for the speeds

Ive used Amsoil 5w-40, changed every 5k, from the beginning and haven't had any problems. No analysis though...

I use 10w-30 signature series with 6000 mile intervals the last two oil changes I have sent to blackstone and have come back great. Keep in mind that everyone runs the 40 weight t6 because that is all it is available in.

No, I don't think that's the reason that everyone runs it.

Oh really please enlighten me as to the other weights it's available in.

That's not what I meant. I misread the post and was meaning to say "that's not WHY everyone runs the T6"... my apologies.

I think this is the t5 (conventional/blend)

15/40 is available in T3 & T5

thier site only mentions T6 In 5w40 full synth.

Sorry to revive - I'm doing a Blackstone analysis on my Rotella (currently in) and then running Ams 5-40 diesel synthetic and running a comparative report. I'm sure there are some out there... But I'll post up my results for those interested 👍
