you thought it was interesting because you wanted to try and use it as a sales tactic to place blame on AP you sly devil you. There have been motors that have gone stock, motors that have gone with the AP, and motors that have gone with the Standback. So I point more blame on the motor.

I actually didn't think pale's comment was bashing cobb at all. I had to read it a few times but it looked like he was bashing the guy for running a cobb tune meant for a stock turbo on the gt30. Loosh is the one that started the cobb shit talking just like always.

I think the problem is every time a motor blows we ALL keep looking for an easy reason why it happened to make it easier for us as mazdaspeed owners to sleep at night. I want to get people away from that. I truly believe tune or no tune this guys car was going to blow and it wasn't his fault it was a design flaw whihc means we're ALL in the same leaky boat.

Phil... bad tunes blow motors too now. The likelihood this car wasnt tuned right with the power it was making.... means it was a ticking time bomb. The guy was probably making 350-360whp with his setup.

I think people are missing the statement that you understand this guy was running an AP tune for a STOCK turbo lol.

Bottom Line: THE TUNE ON THE AP WAS NOT DESIGNED FOR THE GT30 TURBO THE OP WAS RUNNING SO YES IT PROBABLY CONTRIBUTED TO BLOWING THE MOTOR ALONG WITH THE BCD AND WHATEVER OTHER MODS HE HAD.

I think that's a fair statement right?

he only did 316 on his gt28r so I don't know about those power numbers

yeah and then that turbo fucked up, he got a gt3071 replacement undr warranty, and when his motor popped he had gt3071 at 18psi in his sig.

heres his timeline if i had to guess....

He....
1. fully bolted the car with a stock turbo
2. got a ap ots map, or even maybe a christian custom tune for said stock turbo
3. pulled his stock turbo off and ran 18psi on a gt2871
4. pulled his gt2871 off and ran 18 psi on a gt3071
5. installed a atp bcd defender to keep from boost cutting...lol
6. ran the car for awhile.. while he looked at his dashhawk
7. blew the motor

when did i said i was running a boost cut defender, i did not need a boost cut defender becaue i had my boost controller set at 17psi.also i email chris a list of what i had in the car and he sent me a vetamap for 93oct at 18psi, but i didnt want to take a chance thats why iset my bc at 17psi.

i never used a boost cut defender, i have a turboxs boost controller, and i used the same map for both turbos, if you see the specs on both turbos they are quite similar so chris told me to keep using the same map. i kept a close eye on all the parameters and like i said everything seems fine. im

well then thats the confusion.. in the other thread you said a turboxs boost cut defender. after going back and reading it a second time... i thought maybe it was just a simple wording mistake. i apologize for making the atp bcd references.

I do think it would be interesting for everybody and shed some light for us... if you gave a timeline of what all you tried out on your car before the motor popped.

you mean what tune i used for my car? as far as my mod list here we go.

corksport fmic
corksport dp,rp
cpe- exhaust with hks custom tip.
denso itv22 plugs
milrguys fuel pump
turboxs boost controller
gt3071r
street unit motor mount
short shifter and bushing

i tried one of the new maps the stage2 fmic103n but went back to the one chris send me as the car seen to have a better power curve through the whole rpm.
