Broke my PMM, need advice and a part number So on saturday i went up to New England dragway, Had some great runs (wet track, limited us to only running 1/8th miles) But on my 13th or 14th run I think i broke my motor mount, because i took a few more runs, my launches were shit and it sounded a bit different. So below is what i found. http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...icture-1-1.jpg http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...icture-2-1.jpg http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1..._picture-3.jpg So as you can see the PMM, failed on me and the aluminum on the bracket snapped from around the stud. The issue is one of the studs is also bent it appears, and i am concerned about how that will effect the repair. Can Anyone tell me what the part# or what to call what is pictured below. Note - this pic is not of my car http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...ssmm9JPG-1.jpg (stolen from bioevolve and edited) I think i will need to replace that piece. I also would like recommendations on replacement PMM, I am considering: -Topspeed PMM from Darkstar Motorsports, and later PTP trans mount or -SU PMM + Trans mount Cliffnotes: -PMM broke at track with street tires -Need part number of item depicted in red box -Want recommendation of PMM I will be ordering tonight or early tommorow morning as i need these parts by the weekend. thanks |
i think the red piece looks okay. highly recommend topspeed pmm. |
The boss for that mount is part of the timing cover, and your looking at ~6 hours of labor at the dealer if you have to replace it... The crank pulley has to come off so the motor will need to be re-timed.. The timing cover itself is about $300... |

I guess i could always try and lightly hammering it back on Damn this car, it just didn't have follow through with its engineering |
If what SSinstaller said is the case, I'd just replace the stud. |
Don't get your heart set on the Topspeed one unless you find a used one. According to Paypal, Darkstar is no longer able to accept money. Get a SU or the AWR one from PG. At least the bushing didn't break and spooge all over your engine. |
I ordered the AWR mount direct from AWR last night. I can hope it will show at my home by this weekend. |
