@iracer7 Yes each side has an axle. I'm pretty sure if one axle is broken, neither side will spin or put power to the wheels. I had an axle pop out on my srt and it wouldn't move. As if it were in neutral. If I am not mistaking the same applies here. Similar set up with lsd type differential.

Your srt never had an LSD unless you put one in. This does.

Here's some better photos.

Alright so I'm pretty sure the mount didn't come with the bushing when I bought it. Almost positive that's what happened.

Yes but he said it was new. The photos aren't in the FS thread that he posted anymore. But how could the mount he sold me not have the bushing?

How did he get scammed?

Sorry about your car really...

But if you were dumb enough to install that mount without the bushing then thats on you.

The picture has the bushing. So if you got the mount and the bushing was gone that should have been your first step to realizing something was wrong. Also how could you not notice that monster gap underneath the mount when you took pictures underneath....Thats supposed to sit flat. But you kept driving on it and now your car is FOOOKED.

Should have paid more attention to what you had going on.

i apologize for saying you were scammed. do you remember the bushing being there when you installed the mount?

so we now have two ways for a trz tranny mount failure...

1. washer installed below bushing
2. no bushing

3. Failure to look a part over before installing it to see if it is damaged or intact before installing it.

I tightened up the bolt so there was no gap there....the bolt was loose when I took those pictures. I'm nearly positive the mount didn't have a bushing when I installed it...sure I should have probably noticed but hindsight is 20/20...I've never installed a TMM before. The bushing is in there solid from what I've read.

I'm not trying to be an asshole man.....I'm just saying it would have been more than noticeable without the bushing being in there.

There is no scam going on here but it certainly is a mystery. Looking at the pics of when you checked the mount and re-centered it, it is obvious that the bushing is not longer there. You can even see in one of the pics how the washer is deformed after it was tightened due do the void where the bushing is supposed to be. The thumping was then caused by the bolt hitting the sides of the mount where the bushing should have been.

As it says in my FS thread, this was brand new and never installed. I originally bought it from ProtegeGarage. The bushing is clearly there upon his purchase from me and upon me shipping it. I am surprised that no one, including yourself, noticed that there is no bushing rather a big open space b/w the bolt and the mount. My question is, where did the bushing go?

Props to that washer for holding your entire engine/transmission and all that torque for as long as it did.

And here's a picture of how a TRZ tranny mount should look when it's installed.

Looks the same to me, minus the bushing...

I've installed a TRZ tranny mount on my own car several times. You can't install it upside down. Nothing would line up

I'm looking at the how-to thread on 24/7 and to me, they look like they're installed the same way.

Slanted down as you go towards the front, center bolt is on the piece that is on the upper side of the mount.

Mine looks the same.

I went to the dragstrip a few days after I installed it and after the 4th or 5th run there was this small thumping sound when I shifted. It wasn't making the sound before going to the track. The noise continued so I took the mount apart and put it all back together. Eventually the thumping/clicking noise went away.

I don't see how you could put the bushing back in....it's in there tight from what I've read. I don't remember there ever being a bushing in the mount.

Umm, unless you drive your speed like a granny, that mount will probably go at some point sooner than expected.

That is when the bushing disappeared....

Wow, it lasted 900000000090000099996432 times longer than is was designed to. Pop in a new axle, and buy a new trz mount.

It maintains zero posted failures due to defects.

If all I have to do is buy a new axle I'll be extremely happy. I don't think the bushing was on there when I originally installed it.

Well it was in his fs pics. Either way, lack of bushing caused the fail. Get a new trz and axle. Oh, replace the bolt too. That thing has been through hell and can fail at any time.

i know you can buy replacement RMM bushing from TRZ because i've asked about it. i am sure you could get a replacement bushing for the trans mount as well.

that just sucks.

i bet you never make that mistake again!

I'm betting the washer was damaged during installation if the head of the bolt went right through it. Over-tightened imo.

Wow just realized there was no bushing. I guess it got torn to pieces and came out of the mount?
