buzzing after shutdown? hey all, i've always had a faint whirring or buzzing after shutdown, i figured it was the coolant pump circulating coolant.. well, i recently installed a bnoon bolt and since then the buzzing noise is much louder. it doesn't sound bad, per se, just twice as loud. any ideas? i have no idea if it's related to the bnoon bolt install, it just may be a coincidence. i was thinking, though, that if the whirring/buzzing is an oil pump circulating oil through the turbo, maybe the restrictor is making it work harder and therefore louder. what do you people who know how all this shit works think? i don't really care about the sound, i just want to make sure there is no impending doom peace! |
I think it's the throttle body. Mine does the same thing and sometimes if I push the gas pedal I can hear the throttle plate move. |
really? why does it buzz? strange.. well, these cars surely are not the strong silent types. |
Fwiw, my car buzzes after shutdown also. Sometimes the duration is longer than others. |
I wondered the same thing and started a thread on M247 a while back. The consensus seem to be that it's an EVAP vaccuum check. Original thread here: So what is it? |
