Car shutters when cold Hey guys, I was wondering if anybody else has experienced a shuttering of the car when it is cold outside and you first get up to around 55-60 mph while the car is still fairly cold (running less than a minute or so). It only lasts about 20-30 seconds and goes away so I am guessing it is either something to do with the engine warming up, or maybe the suspension (eibach springs) which causes the bearings to do this??, or possibly because of my su rear mount. Its not really a serious problem just sort of annoying. I dont think it is a wheel weight issue because it did it with my stock wheels as well. |
Have you tried to let the car warm up first and then drive it? I know my car sounds like a big pos when it's really cold outside before it warms up. I have not experienced shuttering other than noise inside the car. |

I get this as well and im on stock suspension and recently put on new tires and rims...same result. It feels like the tires arent balanced until I drive a few miles. I added it to the list of annoying things on my car. |

I let mine warm up for about a minute then get on the freeway, i've never felt that shutter sound you described, but it could be suspension related.. |

My car has developed what feels like an unbalanced wheel since it has gotten extremely cold here. I actually haven't checked to see if I lost any wheel weights, but its worst on the interstate at 65-70 - the car shudders pretty noticeably, although the steering wheel has no shuddering. |
