car will turn on then turns off... help
 

i have a 08 speed 3 with about 17k miles on it i went on vacation for a week came back turn the car on it was about 23 degrees out car was inside the garage, the car turns on then turns off after about 3 secs car rattles before it dies black liquid comes out from the mufler i can see it on the floor and i can also hear a whistle noise from the engine before dying... any ideas?

Your rods had a house party and then fled before you got home.

weird... i left mine for over a week and it started fine.

Open the hood, see if the battery connections are still tight, then check for loose intake and intercooler hoses, then check back with findings. Black liquid is probably just water and carbon residue, normal by-products of combustion. It's pretty heavy on this car, typically, especially if stock.

i had something like this happen, i had to replace the spark plugs.... they had gotten wet and wouldnt fire. i doubt that's it, since the was just sitting there..but just throwing it out

before you actually start it turn the key to the on position and let the electrical and fuel pump start up, when all electrical is working try and start it. if the car starts clicking and doesnt start its time for a new battery.

That kinda sounds like what my car was doing when we first finished the engine build. My MAF was backwards so the car would start for a second then just die. Flipped it around and everything is fine.

Yeah, hopefully the MAF is plugged in b/c that's exactly what it'd do if it wasn't.

yes sorry guys i been busy. yeah the intercooler pipe going to the engine came off the one with the blow off,had to put it back and make sure it was super tight car its fine now :p
