Changed oil and now have knock?
 

Went to get my oil changed and talked to guy and in the end me not reading the owners manual I listened to him and bought Royal Purple 5w-20 and now did a log about 100 miles after the oil was changed and now have some knock. Is it because of the oil? If so I'll have to pay another god damn $60 for 6 more quarts.

Use 5w-40.

our car calls for 5w-30 but a lot of guys use 5w-40. Always listen to MSF first then the owners manual then the dumbass changing your oil. Just suck it up, buy more oil and do it again

Just have the oil changed, but I don't believe it would cause knock. That's a combustion issue.

I doubt its the oil. if it was winter I would probably run it, being that it is warm out it may be a little thin.

60.00 for oil???? thats a rip! i get Pennzoil Ultra for 28.00 bucks at wally world and i'm willing to bet that its a way better oil than royal purple. check around for better deals next time ;)

Shell Rotella T6 5W-40 is $21/gallon at Wal-Mart. I go to AutoZone and make them call my local Wal-Mart and have them price match. Partly it's because AutoZone carries the Motorcraft version of our cartridge-style oil filter, but mostly it's because I fucking hate Wal-Mart.
