clutch help! While i should not need a clutch just yet i think i will replace it while the motor is out. Ive read some issues with aftermarket but don't want factory but then again i do need a factory feel. My knee was screwed up in iraq so clutch feel is important! Anyone have an aftermarket unit that holds power but doesn't have heavy pressure plate? Need real world imput and not what you've heard! |
We don't have many aftermarket clutch manufacturers for our cars. Unless you're going to be making 500+whp any time soon I say just go with another OEM clutch. Our stock clutch is badass. |
I should be shooting for about 370hp 400tq but if the factory unit can hold i guess its that....Any aftermarket flywheels that are worth it? |
I have no answer for that one, sorry. |
http://www.mazdaspeedforums.org/foru...it-pics-76869/ Talk to the vendor he might be able to help or at leaat point you in the right direction, he's a good guy. |
^ talk to stefan , but if you have a bum knee dont get the cm kit. Get the eagle motorsports kit he offers, stock pressure plate with a upgraded disc to hold more torque. |
the knee ain't too bad but i was stuck in stop and go traffic in a POS mustang and it killed me! Anyway thanks for the info! |
dude i got a spec stage 3+ clutch and i dont really feel it too much stiffer then factory, now a mustang those clutch pedals are BEAST we had a 2002 GT and that clutch is stiff as fuck, my spec is nowhere close to that. if your gonna mod more power fuck the stock clutch get a act or spec. i could not really tell difference on pedal |
Trying to stay away from ACT and SPEC because of the horror stories and a past experence i had with an ACT. Seems like dual mass is the most streetable and this upgrade i see might do well. Thanks for the replys. |
i think everyone has had a problem with every brand there is due to thier own fuck ups, people cry rape about spec clutch yet i have had no issues, i have heard the same for ACT i feel no matter which route there is a chance of fail lol |
Loving my ACT so far... |
