Helps my decision greatly. I pumped Eric's pedal a few times in the parking lot and it felt near enough to stock that my crusty old knees wouldn't complain either.

It will get softer. Give it time.

Also, don't forget, according to South Bend, no WOT for 750 miles.

Yup, going to be a difficult 1000km...thinking I might need to flash a weak ass map so I don't get out of hand with it.

It has become a lot easier to shift. Still more than OEM, but I am thrilled with my choice. Not that it matters because switching is not an option!

I have had no issues at all. I would get this again.

For those that have had a look at the fork - would it be possible to reinforce one before install (adding a rib for example)?
@Raider; Did you use MT90 before or is this your first time with it?

How is the chatter?

And for anyone with the OEM/Fidanza setup that's near Raider - how about one of you take a trip to compare?

Welding one would be plausible. I just swapped.

3rd run of mt 90. Like it a lot.

I grew up with thinking chatter was when you are driving and the clutch chatters and whole car shakes.

The sound that is like the throw out bearing dying, it's there but don't care. And don't really notice it.

It's holding 337 hp 333 torque nicely.

I haven't seen much reason to worry about it. My first FX400 lasted 52,000 miles; and I'm on my second one with probably ~10,000 miles. [The FX400 is a monster, I had an original that was super stiff and absolutely wonderful.] The fork itself has nearly 170,000 miles on it. No signs of it doing anything funny.

2 things on my build went absolutely perfect, with no fucking around

the fidanza/OEM (the engine was giving me so much grief I hadn't even notice how perfect it was for awhile)

And the AC

I gotta go back and read the middle of this thread My fork looked fine, and I looked at it cuz of the issues the kids had with the rolla

bearing was fine too, just dry

How much did the extra OEM stuff cost?

I'm planning on following this route but wanted to make sure It'll fit my budget.

Has anyone else have the chatter in the clutch? Switched to SBC S3DD and it has an excessive amount of chatter. I talked to one other person with the same issue. These are designed with anti-chatter technology. Contacted them but no response.

I notice a bit under no load deceleration especially at higher revs and it's pretty bad with the AC on at idle...otherwise it's not bad or annoying. When does it chatter? At idle? Raise your idle a couple hundred rpm?

Those are my symptoms also. Scared me a little when I started my freshly built motor. Sounded like the valves were tapping. But I guess I'll deal with it, sure as hell don't want to tear it apart again.

I have the Stage 3 Endurance.

It chattered a bit when it was first installed, but it has quieted down dramatically now. I've had it in since March.

Don't expect it to be completely silent, though. It is still a single mass flywheel.

I got it, but as above, single mass versus dual means the bearing sound.

Back in my day, chatter was the car shuddering during shifting. You can always blow a grand on an OEM dual mass. LOL Fuck that.

I know, but i was wondering how many experience this. I've heard from one other vendor that is running this clutch and he states there is zero chatter. I call bull shit. Here's the response I received from Dave at DXD racing.

Yup, totally normal noise. That's the normal sounds when the spring loaded flywheel is removed. They usually aren't very loud, however, you may want to look into replacing the oil in the transmission to one that handles shock better, like Motul or Redline. That usually helps quiet it down a little.

Probably more to do with a lightweight aluminum flywheel. Physics alone suggest it's going to chatter at low RPMs. Either engage at higher RPMs or, if you're honestly worried about it, go with something heavier.

Example: Nearly twice the weight/cost of Fidanza but still half the cost of OEM:
Steel Flywheel: FW-306-SF - Clutch Masters

I would agree that Raider's option is also good for DD. That's a 20-22 lb flywheel IIRC. OEM is around 28.

I'm happy with it though. Its not like doing leg presses sitting in traffic. It was just curiosity not a complaint.

Honestly I think even a soft RMM makes a way bigger difference with NVH than this clutch does...so I can't see how a little noise is a big deal, because racecar.

Aftermarket mounts aside, NVH is 90% flywheel.

I think you're wrong...maybe the entire clutch assembly but not just the flywheel.
