Cobb BPV vs. Forge BPV

Hey All,

I currently have a Forge BPV, but recently saw that Cobb came out with theirs for the MS6. The Cobb BPV looks so nice, just in its manufacturing, and I also like the fact that you can put it in 50/50 hybrid mode.

Has anyone purchased the Cobb unit, and if so can you compare it to the Forge? I know that it probably wont be worth the money, but thats really not the issue. I am also getting a bit tired of the ninja sound, and want more of a BOV type sound if possible.

Thanks

Haltech did a review of the Cobb here.

i would get a synapse bov and now this thread canbe closed because everyone ive talked to used it as well and had much success..those bov's can hold up to 100psi with no leaks.

alright ill look into that as well and I appreciate the feedback...for the purposes of this thread i would like to focus a bit more on the Cobb, mainly because I am pretty invested in their products and know that they produce really high quality stuff.

I searched for the review for this part, but it must have gotten lost with the server, or I just cannot find it, anyone?

I have the Cobb. I can't compare it to the Forge, since I've never used one, but everyone I know who runs the Cobb loves it, myself included. It's a bit pricey, but it sounds great in recirc, and in 50/50, though I wouldn't recommend running it that way unless you don't mind some afterburn on decel and in between shifts. It's a very nice piece, and is some VERY well put together.
Again, I can't comment on the Forge, since I've not had any real experience with one, but I'm sure the Forge does everything you need it to, for around half the money.

Did you adjust the COBB at all after install? If so, by how much (#of turns). I had the Forge V1 and switched to the COBB because I didn't like the sound of the Forge (clanging metal sounds like something is breaking). Now, I think the COBB may be leaking, or it's not adjusted properly. Any thoughts?

If its anything like the turbosmart hybrid valve, you have to adjust the valve usually depending on what other mods you have. For example, most people had to turn their's about a full turn after installing a TIP. Can be kind of a pain in the butt to get it dialed in just right.

Stock bpv ftw

I had the Forge v1 and now I have the Cobb. Expensive... yes..... but I really like it. More quiet that the ninja sound.

Is it more quiet or just a different sound? I noticed that my forge sounds much different and better after the installation of both my sri and tip. But I may consider cobb because I wouldn't mind a change in sound also
