Jesus dude, just calm down. You act like you got hosed throwing away money on this stuff. Did you? Should we just wait until you tour Cobb and revise your outlook? All this shit is good for is overhyping problems, driving people from good products, and lastly producers packing their bags and moving on to less complicated and more lucrative platforms. We should be sucking the balls of anyone that is willing to throw R&D at these cars, because god knows there are easier whips to make parts for.

I think I speak for many when I say that nobody needs your "protection", or how ever it is you justify it. I understand voicing your opinion on it once or twice when asked in an appropriate thread. What you do is excessive. There was once a time when your opinions (protection) meant something to the community. Now it falls upon deaf ears.

That sux cause I like the throws as short as possible. I dont have a problem getting INTO the gears, its just when I downshift to 2nd and 1st that I have to force it.

I do not have a problem with the shortest setting at all. It feels great, I have really been enjoying the shifter for the most part.

When rolling to a stop, I have always put a small amount of pressure going into 1st and let it slip into gear when its ready, never force it, but it does go in at a slow roll. 2nd gear starts for me if I am in motion.

Just a FYI:
Stock peice is rubber and can be pulled off by hand. It's glued on alittle.

Be carefull of the retension spring when pulling to get the shifter out, you might break the spring stopper if the spring slips from your grap lol.

Anyone want a free upper shaft with a finer thread pitch for different shiftknobs that don't fit ours lol. J/K.

^^^I did not know there's a spring "stopper"... fuck!

My spring is popped off and is sitting NEXT to the groove over the lip closer to the shifter ball side:

And I also got the "thinner" shaft...argh...at least Chris @ Cobb is looking into it for me...

Default I received my STS yesterday

Does anyone have photos of STS installation or better instructions. Looks simple, but instruction sheet is lacking some clarity with black and white print.

Default Very easy installation

Two hours and fifteen minutes later, job is complete. I drove speed this morning and love it... too bad I had to cover it up with boot, it's a piece of art.

Should I replace shifter weight or continue to use stock?

Thanks a million gentlemen!

I know this is an older thread but... i just wanted to revive it because yesterday my 20 minute short shifter install became 2 hour install and didnt fuckin get pussy cause i was pissed as hell at the fuckin clicking spring coming out of place...

...
i thought i had bent the spring while uninstalling the stock, but then i realized that the stock has a rubber thingy instead of the metal one on cobb, as mentioned already here...
i switched that from the stock to the cobb.... end of my problems!..
everyone should do this.. day and night, no more clicking

-shifter looks beautiful

Cons:
-If used without the stock counterweight, 1st and 2nd gear are close to impossible to find and get to.
-downshifting to 2nd gear requires a bit of a jerk
-the unit looks good as a whole, but the way its put together feels kind of flimsy(especially on the part where the the top piece is bolted in above the spring. This is where I felt the TWM was better, the TWM felt like a whole solid piece, not like a bunch of legos.

Regardless of the cons, the performance of the shifter is exactly what im looking for. The notchier shorter throws make it worth while.
thats quite a corolla !!
