Cobb SW, TTFMM, OC with SP

Installed some stuff today and changed motor, tranny oils and rotated tires.
First off, sorry for the picture quality. I forgot my camera and used my cell phone at the highest resolution.

Cobb Shifter Weight: You can get to it from the bottom of the car if you are already down there. Just reach up and there is plenty of room. Made the shifting less forceful, less heavy hand shifts.

Oil conversion spin-on w/ sensor plate: That is pretty straight forward. No sensors in it yet, that is another wiring weekend. :biglaugh:

Turbine Tech Front Motor Mount: The front frame bolts they supplied are not long enough when they don't make it an accurate fit, so I had to buy some longer bolts M8x1.25x45mm. Anywho, The wheels feel a hell-a lot more planted to the road. Vibration is up alittle at idle with my SU rear lower mount, but it's all good. :1244:
In their instsructions they say cut a small "V" into this part, but I chose to cut it big. You will do the same, unless you have hands as small as a toddler.

Looks like there might be room for one of the intercooler piping to go thru, as long as the other pipe is going over the engine to the passenger side like the BEGI FMIC. Still thinking about it: TMIC or FMIC, but wanna keep the TTFMM.

Looks good!!!

I had the same problem with the TT bolts, had to run to autozone at 4am b/c they only gave me 2 of the 4 required bolts. Luckily all Autozone had was the longr bolts so I just went with those and just happened to be the right length. All in all the fitment of the TT FEM was kind of "meh." I feel like this thing could fit a LOT better than it did.

I cut just enough of the ducting to get the TT mount to fit, I actually removed some of the clips that held it in place and moved it out of the way, got everything on the mount tight, then from above the car managed to get all but one of the clips back. So its loose, but still does whats needed and doesn't have a huge hole in it.

I just pulled my shifter weight completely off, I might try replacing it with the cobb weight eventually, but for now, no weight is feeling mighty fine.

Bio, I know the cobb and cp-e FMICs won't fit, the begi looks like it might be close, or might only require a small amount of modification to fit. I might see if theres a way to buy it, test and return it if it doesn't fit.

That would be cool if that BEGI worked, let me know if you find out about test and return if it doesn't fit lol.
Hiboost's FMIC has the outlet of the intercooler on the passenger side going up and behind the upper part of the radiator, another one to try and test. :thinkerg::biglaugh:

how was the install of the turbine tech front motor mount? Is it a bolt on affair or cutting and drilling is required? could you please elaborate more on the V cut picture...I don't quite get where that location is :)

bioevolve 09-01-2008 07:22 AM

It's the area where a CAI pipe would go. It's a bolt-on affair. The cutting is just into some plastic, I just used a hack saw blade easy. It's just so the driver side brace plate to the frame will fit without pushing that piece over. Just the same you can take it out, I left it in there. I thinik you would have to remove it anyways for a FMIC and/or CAI, no biggie.

Changed oil & filter again to AMSOIL SYN 5W-30 and K&N HP-1002 filter!

Lookin good bio...I may lean towards the TTFM once IDRVSLO gets the final numbers on his Liquid-to-Air intercooler setup.

Well I just ordered the cobb FMIC, I'll be checking to see how close the fitment is, if its close I might try and modify the IC pipes to work with the FEM, otherwise I'll just ditch the FEM and stick with the ETD and the TRZ mount. I'll try and revise this post and throw more TLA's in here too.

That Liquid to Air cooled looks nice! Wondering myself how that would fit with the TTFMM.:fest30:
