yea the forge will not cause pops any more than the stocker, provided it is properly maintained (annual inspection / grease - takes 10 min.)

I'm still liking mine. No issues running hybrid for me. Have any of you adjusted the spring tension?

Mine was leaking from the vacuum nipple over to the intake return side. Talked with Cobb and they sent me a new Subaru o-ring to replace on the piston, but it didn't stop the leaking. Apparently the o-ring they used initially was revised after the first few went out. They have the unit now, waiting to get it back and test it out again. Anyone else done boost leak tests?

Nice! Great news as more parts = more power/lower prices.

I don't take COBB as the type of company who will do group buys or lower pricing. Their prices will stay or go higher considering their move, the further research towards new parts.

Otherwise, at this rate (with them discontinuing the FMIC, Exhaust and now Swaybars??) I'd say they arn't going to go too deep into our cars really, but continue to invest into their main breadwinner - the AP (considering, it's about to be overlooked by CP-E's gains..)

Trey Cobb said that they discontinued most parts when the economy got bad so they could make sure they could survive. Now they want to focus on improving the AP and making power hard parts.

Do you really think that what CPE has reportedly done is something that nobody else can do?

If they could have, don't you think it would have already been done?

You gotta give credit where credit's due.

No disrespect to CP-e, but I think it's a matter of time before other tuning options catch on. It may have taken one group a short time of thinking 'outside the box' and they found a solution and ran with it. Now that something has been found, the others will try and catch up. That's business for ya.

Cobb may or may not continue, but I do see they're investing in the 2010 MS3, and that's a good thing IMO. For a company to want to walk away only to come back a year or so later and develop for the new generation, the 1st gen MS3 crowd can be happy (and us MS6 people too!). It means that there will still be a small variety of options for parts, especially core upgrades like the CAI/SRI and TIP.

You must be shrooming to think that when electronics and software are produced that it would be fully featured and as good as it gets right away. It may be worth your time and money to see what happens.

That's the new model for all electronics; rush it to market, then add features in as you go along when you have the time to develop them. Once the hardware is in place, it's all programming from there.

Agreed. Progressive tuning options only make it better and cheaper for the enthusaists.

Options and competition FTW!

Not to mention that Cobb doesn't nickel and dime for upgraded software features.

That is true. I guess that is what has kept me from going to the standback is all the features are alot more expensive. Although for a second there i thought Cobb was gonna stick it to us when the were releasing the ATR. Thank God they didn't LOL

I received my Cobb BOV in Dec 2009, but have yet to install it. It is sitting on the shelf with the large Turbosmart and the Synapse Synchronic. I finally installed the Forge and like it. Seems I like to collect parts.

Wow old thread! I've been running this BPV for about a month now. No problems, though I tightened the spring up just a bit. I've run in both 50/50 and full recirc with no problems with either. responsiveness is super quick, and I found it to be a good investment. Zero maintenance with this valve too... Is it worth 2x the price of the forge??? probably not, performance wise...but it does look pretty!
