Corksport Series II Short Ram Intake Kit

Hi guys
New to the forum and have owned my Mazdaspeed 3 for about 5 months now - completely stock standard. I came across the below corksport short ram intake and I am curious whether it is worht the upgrade from stock.

I dont plan on doing any more modifications to the engine (saving to import a mustang from the states, so all money is going towards that) but will this benefit the car enough to warrent spending $500 on it? e.g enhanced power, better fuel efficiency? Also, any downsides to consider? I have been told this particular Corksport cai will also not require a retune of the engine?

If that's the only mod you plan on doing, then don't even bother with it.

The performance benefit over the stock system is negligible without a tuning solution.

That applies to most flow mods on this platform.

Stay stock and put the money towards your stang.

Just get the sri/tip combo ditch the cold air concept with this car. I planned on only doing a intake and thats it lol. The CS tip/sri was my first intake. It will give u some more power and will make your turbo a lot louder.
If u decide to hold off and not mod past the intake then perfect otherwise skip this and go for the 3" intake pump internals and a AP with a tune for the intake.

In all seriousness u would probably enjoy a RMM and a CS intake.

I would do a rear motor mount if I was doing only one mod.

The intake isn't going to make a ton of power but it does sound awesome.

STI and TIP

Just go for it cuz once you start it's to much fun to stop!

I agree that if I were to only do one mod, hands down it would be RMM.

I can almost guarantee if you start with an intake you will not be able to stop there, and will soon find yourself buying all kinds of shit you didn't originally plan for.

I was one of the many that said I was staying all stock until warranty was over or car was paid off.

That lasted like 6 months.

Agreed! I managed to keep my car stock for 1 month before I started ordering parts. And of course now I'm about to put a BNR in, it just keeps going, haha!

OP; as others have said, the SRI and TIP will give you more of an 'induction' and 'turbo' sound (which as ricey as it seems, most people love it haha) but as for power, you won't see a noticable different really. But the sound alone is worth it.
