They have all shipped guys, sorry about the delays. |
Update: Medieval Tranny Mount after 600+ miles now. There is less deceleration vibration than PTP's first batch of tranny mount of 1500+ miles. The bushing is holding in place with the hardware kit, next update will be about 1500+miles. |

i installed the revised ptp mount yesterday. the pieces are real heavy, the hardware is good for the most part. the bushing bolt is too long and the nut that threads onto it didn't thread onto it despite it looking like identical threads. eh, whatever, i made my own threads in the nut by threading the bitch on there. my bushing faces passenger to driver, not front to back. whatever. getting the plate on the bottom was pretty easy, but getting the top piece on the bushing was a huge pain in the ass. we had to figure out a way to open the mount a bit in order to get the bushing to fit. we banged it a number of times on the curb. it finally went in and then we had to get the bolt through, realizing that it was too long. so we took it out, put about 5-6 washers on the bolt to make sure it didn't hit the frame on the other side. now it's all in there, but not tightened down. lining it up was also somewhat difficult, but i don't think that's the mounts problem. it was lined up eventually and it's all torqued down. impressions? so far so good. noisy, but i love noisy. haven't noticed any increase/decrease in wheel hop...i will report back i suppose |

Added noise is sometihing that is expected. It's like adding a larger exhaust system. More noise, better performance. Or adding lowered springs, more noise, better performance. Adding soild motor mounts will transfer more noise, but give better performance. It is a trade off. |
more noise please |
Got the PTP Tranny Mount in today, Revised Version 2. The bushing direction follows Medieval's. Comes with Short bolt for tranny bracket, looooonngg bolt and washers for bushing, top plate is sloted for nut access. http://www.freedomcomputers.net/ms3/...mountvtwo0.JPG http://www.freedomcomputers.net/ms3/...mountvtwo1.JPG http://www.freedomcomputers.net/ms3/...mountvtwo2.JPG Tried putting it together and let me tell you how tight that thing is lol. See the shavings on the table lol. Seriously had to man handle this thing, didn't want to use a hammer. I can now see why Phillyb had a hard time installing it and banging it lol. http://www.freedomcomputers.net/ms3/...mountvtwo3.JPG http://www.freedomcomputers.net/ms3/...mountvtwo4.JPG Nut access slot looks like done by hand and a demel? http://www.freedomcomputers.net/ms3/...mountvtwo5.JPG http://www.freedomcomputers.net/ms3/...mountvtwo6.JPG Pulling apart the two pieces. http://www.freedomcomputers.net/ms3/...mountvtwo7.JPG It's so tight the powder coating comes off too. http://www.freedomcomputers.net/ms3/...mountvtwo8.JPG http://www.freedomcomputers.net/ms3/...mountvtwo9.JPG I don't know if I'm gonna put this in, I had changed the tranny mount so many times. I think the nuts and bolts threads are wearing away already lol. |
bio, you'll probably need some washers for that long bolt... i didn't want to shave much away from the bushings...but we made a very very very slight angle on one side of the bushing so that we could get it in there. and yeah...the powerdercoating added a little extra bit that was worn away after you shoved the bolt through there. but right now, that bolt is too long and it will hit the frame if torqued down |
So use all three washers on the head part of the bolt right? |
nah, you'll need those washers for the bolt that goes into the aluminum...those washers i believe are for that bottom plate. i had to go to the store and buy washers |
damn thats a lot of work!!! Rich, I receive mine also...might install it this week...let me know if you are gonna install it..gonna call you anyway |
Yeah, if you need help let me know! :tongue3: |

But then won't the washers put the bushing at a angle, so it's doesn't sit flush between the brackets? |
so what they actual changed in ptp mount?? im asking because mine is shiped...bushing are harder they wont fail like the first batch??? and when exactly those washers have to go?? |

Yes, bushing has been turned 90 degrees, top plate ears also turned 90 degrees to match. Slot cut out of top plate to get a wrench on the bushing bolt nut. That is all I know. :tongue3: |
do you still ned washer under that black bolt to make it sit straight?? |
so which mount do you guys think i should order? im kinda torn? |
all of them |
yes, i was joking... yes, i know you meant which tranny mount... |
We have recently added a few new packages to our MazdaSpeed 3 line as well as prices. Take a look: Medieval L.L.C. |

I'll be releasing some pictures of our new front motor mount and some other goodies this weekend. It has been in testing for 3 months as of today, so I'll now talk about it and release pictures. :) Also, here is another Pro Mod manifold shipping off to ceramic coating. This is for a customer named Anthony that is moving towards a serious build. The popularity of the manifolds is starting to take off and now building 1 a week. |
That's one mean turbo mani... |
I have the medieval mounts ready to go on this wknd...I have a short bolt that came with the mounts. Is there any other hardware I need? Judging from some of the pics, this is the updated kit and shouldn't need any more washers? |
