Default Difference between JBR and SURE TIG

Do you really know difference between this two ?

Why SURE is a little bit higher in price ?

Both are great quality ?

Thanks

same material but you have the option of getting a thicker gasket at sure which would be twice the thickness.

i got the jbr tb tig w/ collant bypass. that combo dropped bats by 10* and i should have done it a long time ago.

It is the same material, but different thickness. SURE is thicker, but you have to be careful when installing it because there have been some cases of cracked manifolds because of the larger offset. Some bolt holes get misaligned and when you torque the shit down it can cause too much stress on some very weak points in the manifold and you end up with a very expensive mistake.

As far as I know people using the thinner JBR gasket have not had this problem, but search just to be safe. You can also order multiples of the JBR gasket and stack them if you want a larger thickness, but again you get into the bolt misalignment problem.

Correction, thin black envelope.

Despite what everyone thinks, our "fancy" packaging is not very expensive at all. Plus we don't "upcharge" because we treat you to a nice visual experience when you open the box.

Do we think our product is worth more because of the packaging? C'mon dudes, we aren't idiots.

Ck, let me put it to you like this.
You spend $400 for a phone, it comes nicely and neatly packaged from Apple. Feels good right? What should be different about your $135 engine mount or your $200 intake? Would you be mad if your new iPhone came in a box wrapped in brown paper with the instructions and accessories in a ziplock bag? Maybe, maybe not.

It doesn't feel very good for us when we put a lot of effort into our products AND the way they are displayed to you only to have you pull down your pants and take a shit on it every chance you guys get.
Bucker and J-Liss like this.

The SURE TIG comes in two thicknesses, I believe, while the JBR one comes in one thickness, but is stackable to an extent.

Both come with excellent customer service, lifetime guarantees, etc. ANd yes, SURE's comes in a nice black sleeve/envelope.

Can't speak to quality of the JBR part, but generally his stuff is very good. I have the SURE TIG, but lack the balls to install it, so it sits.

You can't go wrong with either, IMHO...and please install mine for me.

Oh, and one more thing: THe JBARONE is $5 cheaper, but it says you only get one gasket...it doesn't say how thick that gasket is. SO there may be a need to buy two to reach the same thickness as a SURE TIG, especially if you want the full thickness possible.

However...Jamie offers free shipping. SURE does not. However, StreetUnit.com does!

Bottom line: see what thickness you want and determine which one is a better deal based on the final cost. QUality's probably about the same.

Neither have the SURE ones. Over-tightening the bolts HAS, however.

And the SURE guys won't call you a "gaping vagina" for criticizing their products. Why? They're professionals.

I have nice parts that I ordered from both companies.

I like Sure's packaging especially if it does not increase cost.

That being said, as long as the product performs, I would buy it if it was shipped wrapped in newspaper.

No problem, simply encouraging you to provide Said gas monies for cool meet and part testing.

To be very honest I know nobody that has used any gaskets from either company. Just figured you'd find your way here. I have read about multiple cracks though with the sure TIG.

yea, i support your efforts to use nice packaging. i also think it's fun to mock it time to time because it is over the top. of course, some people have to be the biggest and loudest at it.

that said, i would not buy any of your products because i do not see the value at your prices.

that said, that said, i don't really buy any parts b/c i'm poor. and i also buy used when possible, thusly negating some of the initial cost.

Real difference is INSTALL INTRUCTIONS!!!
I got a GREAT deal on my SURE (IM) TIG (thanks @rfinkle2) the only reason I didn't crack anything is I used JBR Instructions from the JBR TIG (IM & TB) that I helped @skeurton install.
If Jamie hadn't provided those with his product I'm 'SURE' some people would have been pissing in his soup also.....remember TIG's don't crack manifolds people do!

You are only supposed to tighten IM bolts to 19-25ish ft-lbs IIRC, or anything going into aluminum. I doubt that you'd crack anything as long as you threaded the bolts in lightly for a few turns, then used a tq wrench for final tightening in the correct cross pattern. I helped @JacksonMS30 intall one of, if not, THE first customer Sure TIG. We knew nothing of IM issues at that point, but we retightened the IM bolts CORRECTLY. That's the main problem with most issues, I'm sure.

I love you too, Jamie, just trying to diffuse misinformation. JBR and Sure make good products.

From my experiences, I like both companies. JBR is my go to 1st guy. Top quality at a great price. But for things jbr does not have, sure makes awesome stuff too. Sure is a little more expensive and that is exactly why I went with the jbr shift weight, jbr tig, and the jbr egr block off last night. Its the same stuff, just better priced + ordered at 10pm, and had tracking# by 8am. I bet my stuff will be at my door in 2 more days. That my .02 cents

A phone and a car part are totally different. Yes, you are right, I do want my phone to come in a pretty box. But a car part? Fuck no. I want a brown box that looks industrial... I guess that JBRs usps boxes work too.

As gay as it sounds, a pretty box brings a feminine approach to a masculine hobby... that is my opinion and I'm going to share it every chance I get because I think nice boxes for car parts is just stupid. You don't and I'm sure that I am not going to change your opinion.

Other than the names, boxes and price points, I don't think I said anything bad. In fact, I don't think (I could be wrong) that I have ever commented on the quality of your products one way or the other... oh, I made fun of the worm clamps once.

Wow, really? You think a black box with foam inserts laser-cut to fit the part and protect it during shipping is feminine? I mean, certainly if my Dreadnaught came in a pretty pink box with flowers, rainbows, and unicorns, with pretty pastel tissue for packing, I'd find it feminine, but SURE's packing is top notch. Everything arrives undamaged and easy to find. No parts rolling around, no scratches...

I think you're just looking for SOMETHING to ding them on.

I'll buy anything JBR makes. And so should you lol.

But Sure isn't bad at all.

I love white silicone. I also love the ones for my car.

EDIT: I was too slow, this first response is to SURE fanboy stealth.

This coming from a SURE fanboy. LOL. Yes, I think so. Shit, the packaging is nicer than my $400 phone. And my car parts don't roll around. They come in bubble wrap, peanuts and newspaper.

The color and pattern are not what makes it feminine; it is the whole concept... Ok, not feminine, metro sexual. Whatever.

I'm sure that their parts perform fine I just don't like their marketing approach. If they make something that I need, I will rock it.

I don't think anyone says anything bad about the parts quality, except for the debacle when the aeros was first released.

I am surprised at how strong a response sure generates from using excessively elaborate packaging.

whatever.

LOL all right man, whatever floats your boat. I think you're putting way too much thought into the masculinity of car parts. Compensating?
