does anyone else hate the black painted oem gaskets?

Im rebuilding my motor and as im taking things off, i got black flakes coming off of the gaskets. Could i just dip the new gaskets in some thinner to get the paint off so this doesnt happen again? I got flakes in my fing coolant and power steering fluid. Also, is it possible to flush coolant out of the block itself?

Just so you know, that coating is there to aid in sealing. I hate it as well but leave it on.

That is not a paint, it is an elastomer coating to aid in sealing. Do not remove it...
