double check... when you order... it happens.. talk about bad luck.... i gotta call up cp or pauter up to c what the heck is going on. got cp pistons and pauter rods... all i did was check the pin to make sure it was good. so i gapped the rings slipped the rings on installed the snap rings in lubbed up the pin and rod and when i tried slidding in the rod into the piston behold the rod is around a 0.005" wider. which means the clearance for the rod will be zero. which in turn means it's jacked up. going to call them up and see who's the one that messed up. pauter or cp. but for future reference guys when you get your part don't think since it's new and it's a reputable company they won't screw up. b/c right now i just did. should've double checked everything. done i'm going to be down to either have pauter or cp give me the right part or take it to the machine shop and have them shave some off. i even payed for it to be overnighted b/c the machine shop wanted to have the piston before they actually bored out the block. serves me right for not checking everything before dropping it off. |
what? |
ya i thought wtf??? couldn't be... but checked the cp box and it says it's for the mazdaspeed 3, mazdaspeed 6 and cx7 and on the pauter rods it's even stamped on the rods ms6 |
im not even gunna touch this one |

TRANSLATION POST Talk about some bad luck! I'm having my block bored out and CP-E pistons and Pauter rods installed. When I ordered the pistons and rods, all I checked was the pin dimension to make sure they were compatible. I had my order overnighted so that the machine shop could get to work on the bore; they wanted the parts in hand before starting. Once I had the parts in hand, I began to assemble the pistons and rods. Once everything was prepped, I found that the Pauter rods dont fit in the CPE pistons! I'm going to call 'them' up and see who is the one who messed up! It has to be either Pauter or CPE! So when you order things together, don't assume they will fit together without researching. Also don't assume that the company you order from will know that they don't fit together. You know what they say, Measure twice, cut once. Now I've either got to get the right parts from Pauter or CP-E, or I have to have the machine shop shave some off. Missing info: Vendor where the order came from, or multiple vendors? OP, I hope your situation works out without too much hassle. Does seem a somewhat easy mistake, hopefully the vendor backs up your experience if they shipped the products together assuming they would fit correctly. |
I can't believe you actually took the time to read and translate the OP. Thanks?? |
That was the best translation i've seen. Lol. Hopefully they get the right parts for you. Subbed for the outcome. Sent from my MB300 using Tapatalk |
