Driver's side mount: Does this look right?
 

Posted in another thread, but was asked to start a new one, so here it is:

I pulled the battery box over the weekend to have a look at the mount, and noticed that the mount rubber appears a bit sunken on one side, and also looks like it might be tearing. I don't have a healthy mount to compare to and spent awhile searching through the forum, so I was hoping someone could tell me whether this looks normal or needs to be replaced. I marked the bolt a few years ago after I removed, added loctite, and torqued to 110 lb-ft, and it hasn't moved since.

All pictures were taken standing at the driver's side of the engine bay. The first shows that the mount looks sunken:

The second shows the side of the mount that faces the firewall. It has these thin rubber pieces that appear to have partially detached, and are kind of crispy to the touch:

This third pic shows the side of the mount that faces the front of the car. This just shows a blank space in the rubber, with some of those thin rubber pieces, but less of them:

Replace it. My stock mount looked like that when I put in my TRZ mount.

You replaced it because the mount was getting worse? I've been waiting for the damn cp-e mounts to be released, but I guess I may have to bite the bullet soon.

Failed or failing? Seems like the wear and tear on these things is really accelerated.

get a trz tranny mount from pg pronto. everyone and his grandma replace the rear mount, but the tranny mount is the weakest sister.

Worried about the vibes from the TRZ mount, but if I don't hear anything from cp-e soon, I'll have to go ahead and order the TRZ. It's only a few bucks more than the factory mount, which is bound to fail again in 3 years or less.

^^^^ the vibes aren't bad. more of a buzz in the pedals. also, you definitely hear the tranny more.

aaronc7 is selling the SU mount set for a fuckin' steal.

Yeah, saw it and thinking about it. I'm waiting for something else from aaronc7, so maybe.

I will have a TRZ tranny mount for sale in the next few days, let me know if you're interested. I fucking love the thing, but I need more reinforcement on the passenger side due to running a big turbo.
