Default Driveshaft Shop axles on my MPS6 GTX3076 1.06 tial

I have 458whp Mazda and this year had many drag runs, but no time on glue. so 60ft wasn't better then 1.7s.

All transmission is tuned, all my gears are longer on 9% then stock.
Both rear axles are Driveshaft Shop . But 2 times i've already broken left one! The first time Driveshaft Shop sent me repairing parts.

There u can see foto of the first breakage
??????? ??????? ????????????? ??????? ??????? ??? ??????? ?? ????????? ??????? Driveshaft Shop

And there is the second
??????? ??????? ????????????? ??????? ??????? ??? ??????? ?? ????????? ??????? Driveshaft Shop (????? 2)

All THREE variant of axles were DIFFERENT!

Look and compare

What suspension are you on, and what diff mounts do you have? I've gone just as fast in the 60' and launched it near 200 times this season...never broken a DSS axle.

Also, how are you launching? Dumping it?

Dumping is an understatement lol his other thread has the back end of the car squatting a good foot on launches and "drifts"

Edit: he has videos in the other thread
And dss has 1000 hp rated axles OP

Found them. I'm betting launch technique is the problem - there's no taking up the slack before dumping it...that kills drivetrain parts.

DSS rear axles .
AWR rear engine mount .
MG passenger & front engine mounts .
MG diff mounts .
Autoexe all strut bars kit .
MG rear interior brace .
KW Variant2 coil-overs .
Whiteline RSB .

My car is very similar to Pat's Mazda.
My launching is usually on 6200rpm. 0.5Bar(7.25psi) on GTX3076, pick boost on 1 gear = 1.85bar(27psi), pick G = 1+ on 10-30mph.
yes, i dump the clutch pedal.

my 0-100kmph(0-62.5) is 3.2s with 1ft rollout or 3.4s with 0ft rollout. 0-60mph = about 3.2 with 0ft rollout.

60ft = 18m is 1.7s with 1ft rollout.

This.

If you're spinning off the line, your launch control is set too high. You can drop it down 100-200 rpm at a time to find the sweet spot. Slip the clutch for a split second THEN dump it. That tightens up the slack and you won't shock the drivetrain.

Which that is called preloading... You can also preload by using the e brake but that takes some practice!

There's lash in every connection in the drivetrain. A tiny amount of play in each joint, and it all adds up. You dump the clutch and it creates a HUGE force that loads the hell out of the drivetrain for a split second. That huge shock is what breaks parts.

The easy way to do it is to slip the clutch for a split second, then let off the clutch as fast as you can as soon as you feel the car move. If you get good with that, you can slip the clutch for that same split second while holding the ebrake, then releasing the ebrake as you let off the clutch.

I haven't been able to get any faster in the 60' using the ebrake, so I don't bother. I've been at the limit of street tires using this method, and have gone 1.70s really easily. That's launching at 0psi around 4500 rpm (depending on conditions).

not too high

i tried to drop, but my starting boost depends on rpm.

it's ceramic clutch. it doesn't like sliping at all.

Meh, I have an FX400 4 puck clutch, and it is WAY more aggressive than those ACT clutches. [I also built an MS6 with an ACT 6 puck and really don't like them.] They will slip just fine, the car should leave the line like an automatic.

Edit: this video shows it really well. You see the car move slowly, THEN I fully let off the clutch. I was cutting easy 1.7x's that day, and I think this video is a 1.70:

K04, launching at 0 psi.

Turbo doesn't change the concept of preloading the drivetrain.

I think I'd probably try launching around 4500-5000 rpm with that setup. Preload like we've said. Not having as much boost off the line probably won't hurt you any since you don't have slicks. Any time I've ever spun off the line I've cut a worse 60'. It looks cool, but it's definitely not fast.

Just my opinion.

Here u can see the comparison of my 11.3s(at night) and 11.69s(day official result) 1\4mile. Second race was good at start, but then i had big problems with ignition((( Potential of this config is in <11sec. Next year i'll try to do this!)))

PS No glue, guys, and street tires 235\45 17)

@RichieRichness; and i hold the world record 60's at 1.66 and 1.63 respectively. Rich has broken 2-3 stock axles and 2 DSS axles. I have only broken 1 stock axle and i prob have triple the amount of passes that he does (easily over 150 on that single axle).

It really does come down to how you leave the line like phate says. Both rich and i have the ACT 6 pucks and they slip just fine. I cant launch over 5000 or else i cant leave 1st gear because im spinning the whole time. When i can afford 4 slicks i will buy them and we will really see what the drivetrain can hold lol

P.S. my record was done on 215/45/18 conti DWS's so tire really means nothing if you know how to drive.

U see my graph ) It's rather fast for no glue asphalt) and it could be better if i shifted later on 65kmph, not 55. It's really a 1.6s 60ft start on not glue special strip. I think u haven't <11s results because of your start.
Pat dumps clutch pedal too.
i want to try street drag radials next year.

my problem may be because of drifting)

Ricer math is rice. If you are extrapolating that time from your ecu, then you're much slower than what you are calculating. Spinning = slower. Get a real slip and see what it does, try out the different methods prescribed here.

It's not like the guys who are cutting better 60' times are giving you advice......right? But, you're the expert, do what you want.

Just look at my channel on YouTube (phate1985). I have quite a few from the strip, and a ton from autocross (autocross starts are completely unprepped). All launching with the same method, never breaking an axle lol.

Drag strips have a stickier surface causing more damage than asphalt/street roads

Because your car is a pussy. Let's just clear that up... lol And I have learned to slip since.

note: DSS told me they changed their manufacturing process for our axles early this year...I have like 50 launches on this DSS axle and @sonic tuning; coilovers. I have yet to break an axle with my new suspension set up. Maybe it's the axle, suspension or both that helped. But I still launch the car like a fuckin boss.
