E4P Short throw problem I installed it 3 weeks ago and i havent done no drag or anything special. Came back from work today and all of sudden my shifter is all lose. It has a 1/4 circular movement. it's like if i was missing a bushing iat the bottom of the shifter. ItS loose between the 2 shaft.... Anybody have an Idea or had the same problem. I'm waiting for a answer from Pg about that problem Thank Juneau |
did you take it apart? can you post pics? is it similar to what's happening here - http://www.mazdaspeedforums.org/foru...roblemo-54428/ |
I remove the center console and there is no problem with the spring, the white bushing where the spring is look stiff. i think the is a problem in the shaft at the bottom of it it's to late for me to take picture but i will do it tomorow. |
lol, op had already posted in fag's thread before i linked it... whoops. time stamps ftw |
i went outside and i took a little video of it ill post it in a minute |
here is my video crappy but ok crappy cliking sound it has nothing to do whit the problem |
Are you having problems shifting into 1st and 2nd? I had an issue with my E4P short shifter. Turns out that the shift assembly (where the ball is that fits into the grey plastic piece where you need the 3 paper clips) has another piece thats screwed into it. That piece thats screwed into it on mine, was NOT loctited so it eventually started to back out, not all the way but 2-3 threads. That made the shifter sloppy (loose like yours) and as well was super tough to get into 1st and 2nd. I took the shifter out, loctited that part and put it back in. All was nice and smooth. The only issue I am having now, is I was a bit rough with that grey plastic cup and hence the shifter has a tad bit of play, but the shaft itself is fine. So check that out first and see. |
Good news.... It was the screw underneath the ball. It was completely off. I put some lock tite and it work perfectly. Thanks to everybody and to PG for the fast answer |
