I regretted not using silicone to seal it, resulting in 25% fuel trims. Went back to stock but I'm going to re-do it when I get my SURE TB TIG.

Had my EGR blocked off for who knows how long now (30,000 +). No regrets. Why would there be? No downside to this what so ever except for a CEL. The CEL can be removed with the AP.

I just did mine on wednesday and dont regret it at all. I did it at the same time as my injector seals so it wasnt much extra work at all. Since i have an AP i just turned off the cel in atr and that has worked fine. My valves looked like absolute crap with 66000 miles. I have used sea foam multiple times but not in the last 10k or so. Also i just started running meth about 3k miles ago. I do not have an OCC yet but i will be getting one very soon after seeing my valves. For some reason the valves behind the vcts flaps were the worst.

These pics were taken with a iphone because thats all we had to work with.

What are you guys doing to clean the valves (short of WMI) once you get the manifold off? Or are you just accepting dirty valves and rocking them.

We had a full day of swapping my ac compressor, injector seals, tig, egr delete, boost leak test/fix and doing turd's egr delete over, injector seals, and boost leak test. For now we just left the valves looking like crap but i am going to go back in in a few weeks and clean them after i buy a occ. We are just going to put some gas down in there and scrub away on the valves to help clean the crap away then suck up whatever is left in there with a shop vac..

my ocd won't like the cel even though i can clear it at will with the scan gauge. this may force me to ditch the ht for the ap.

I thought the same thing until I had it on for the first 5,000+ miles. Now the dash looks odd without it on!

Makes me wonder if COBB could add an EGR duty cycle table to ATR so we could control the valve to keep it closed? Would be nice to easily re-activate it for inspection... probably would sell a few more AP's too.

Good point. Maybe I should wait until my next smog check before I block it.

i thought the gb was for the intake plenum tig so i didn't click on thread. there's no way i'm taking my intake mani off for this. the tb tig has me intrigued but i'm thinking it's snake oil. it's been almost 3 years and i'm still sure and cpe free.

There is a coolant line that goes to the TB for whatever reason. My guess is to counter act the intercooler. You can bypass it.

i couldnt find one...atleast not in the ms3/ms6 how-to databases

maybe @bnoon can chime in...he has it done and explained it in shout...but i dont completely remember

i think he said there are 2 lines going to the throttle body...he removed 1 and sent the 1 remaining tube to the location where the other was removed

if that makes sense

Almost all newer throttle bodies run engine coolant through them.

I think that the link you are looking for is here...

I don't have a how to yet, but am planning to do mine, so I can put one together.

It's pretty easy, the LS1 owners have been doing this forever, I did it to my Firebird.

1.) Only downside is inspection.
2.) Bypassing your coolant line to the TB will make your car run like shit in the cold and/or your TB will freeze. Otherwise, do it.
3.) Has anyone thought of doing a catch-can type thing on the EGR pipe to let it function, but capture the solids?

from what i've read it seems that the ap only "turns off" the cel but doesnt get rid of the code. once u go get an inspection or use a scanner it reads "not ready" or something like that and wont pass

would like to get this done but annual inspections suck!!

Annual would suck. We're bi-annual, and iirc, we only get sniffed, but there could be a scan involved. For the sake of a cleaner IM, I may do this and just slap it back on every two years.
Now if I could only find out where my oil is going...

Is this a fact? I thought as long as no CEL's are on that you pass?

Total and absolute bullshit. Been to 30 below the last two winters and no issues whatsoever, ever.

That's correct. Just pull the shorter coolant line all the way off and connect the longer line to the other tube. If you do it quickly, you spill very little coolant. I messed up and dropped the line more than once, so I had to add a couple of quarts of coolant to top it off when I was done.
