went to autozone today to get some oil and i was looking at the oil additives like z max and prolong and the performance claims by these products seem interesting. I was woundering if anyone on here has used anything like this and/or recomends it

Claims. No need.

Grab a quality synthetic.

Personally I used the Lucas Racing Synthetic additive ($15 a quart) in my SRT for roughly 60k every oil change along with PP. I know now it was was overkill, but even at 100k, my internals looked brand new. According to sites like "bobtheoilguy" etc, the product is worthless. Not sure I would go as far as saying that it doesn't help, but I do know now that it is unnecessary if you just run a good quality synthetic oil. (which I was already doing)

I will just stick to running a good synthetic oil like it was mentioned above on my MS3. That should be sufficient. With this vehicle, it seems that its more beneficial to just change the oil more often vs using an additive.
