engine mount failed

So I was driving my car on the drag strip on friday and i shifted from third to fourth and I heard a bang and then a lot of clunking.

Turns out the mounting bracket for the drivers side sheared right off the bolt and dropped the motor, pulling the drive shaft apart.

When I was researching the problem, I found that this problem was recalled by mazda.

So I have a couple questions, first is that if this problem was recalled, would mazda cover the damages?

Also what other possible damages should I look for? The engine did go so far as to hit the front of the compartment. I did notice that the bypass valve nozzle broke off. Also, the engine belts were pressed up against the side of the car so I will probably want to replace those as well.

Tomorrow I'm going to the mazda dealer to talk to them but I was hoping to get input from people who know what they are talking about.

Tell them you did it drag racing. They'll be more than happy to fix it.

Oh and, I think your drive shaft is fine seeing as how you don't have one.

Make sure they top off the blinker fluid, resurface the rotater splints and check the condition of your muffler bearings. Look into an o-pipe for maximum performance.

check the specs on the rotary girder as well, if its not torqued right you run into some major long term problems

Don't leave any time slips in your car either. It never ceases to amaze me what people forget to take out of their cars before dropping it off at the dealer.

Make sure you clean the wheel wells... I remember a guy from NM that his motor dropped and fucked everything up at the track, he took it to the dealer and they denied it and voided it for racing... their proof? all the burnt rubber stuck on the wells and side of the car. :)
