I sure do love mine, works well with the LuK clutch

& FWIW, MAPerformance has em for $334.99 with free shipping all the time :spam:

This was the combo I was thinking of using as opposed to Spec or ACT. Cheaper and longer lifespan.

6ixof1 01-02-2014 12:35 PM

@TiGraySpeed6; how is the clutch pedal feel? I'm in city traffic at times and autox/track days occasionally.

TiGraySpeed6 01-02-2014 12:55 PM

Stock.
Really- it's the same.

I don't have any trouble at all with the lighter flywheel, and actually find it easier to drive than the stock FW. To me the stock FW felt way too heavy, like a tank. Now it's just made the whole car feel lighter on it's feet. It's not a huge difference, but certainly noticeable.

Mine's a daily driver, and I tend to drive with attitude. I pretty much never drag, and only rarely launch. I do autocross with it, I do have LC set up and FFS. I make the clutch earn it's keep to be sure, but I don't abuse it.

If you're heading to the strip, or street race often, I'd have to encourage getting an ACT or better- but if you had good results with the OEM then you'd most likely be fine with the LuK/Fidanza combo

Glad to see this thread. I have been looking into that flywheel and Luk clutch combo. Happy to hear they work good together.

Anyone got a part no for that Luk clutch, perhaps?
Trying to find one here in South Africa. Having some deets just may help the guys at the auto shops find/source em.

This might be exactly what I need too. OEM clutch slipping after 135k miles. Lightly modded with intake and AP, considering down pipe and BNR turbo - would this serve if I add those parts?

Prob not, but I would think it would be ok up to 350hp/350tq imo.

TiGraySpeed6 01-08-2014 09:16 AM

I'm in the 350-370 window with mine on a BNRs3 and it's holding fine.

One thing to remember about the Fidanza, or any single mass FW- there will be some chatter. I'm not finding it to be any big deal, and more often than not it's quiet enough you can't even hear it outside the car.

I just don't want folks to read this thread and then be amazed when their new toys start talking to them. The more you know...

Edit to add: If you're going to be launching on a regular basis- drag strip or mexico, whatever, you might want to consider something stronger. I daily drive mine and it's fine, but if I was hitting the drags often I'd go for an ACT or better without hesitation!

BackRoads 01-08-2014 09:30 AM

Thanks - don't mean to threadjack; think I will start a new thread to ask for suggestions for my setup. I don't do any track time, really, just don't want to be stuck if the BNR gets me up towards 375 hp.

Man, I paid $250 when I bought the LUK (you know LUK is OEM right?).
@smoogs12; this is what you should go with.

Jeff23spl 01-09-2014 01:30 PM

what is the weight saving from using the FW VS OEM ?

[R]usty 01-09-2014 01:38 PM

Just throwing this out there. RockAuto has the Luk clutch kit for $175.

Domino81 01-16-2014 07:24 AM

CLUTCH CVR (L304-16-410C) - $174.79 - L30416410C

DISC,CLUTCH (L304-16-460C) - $130.27 - L30416460C

OEM clutch is dirt cheap.

Rcimp 01-23-2014 08:50 AM

I had the LUK clutch kit (Disc, Pressure Plate, Throwout Bearing, and alignment tool) installed on my Speed with the Fidanza aluminum flywheel and I love it. Easy on the leg but bites good. LUK Part # 10064 was $175 as mentioned above and I paid $330 for the flywheel from Summit. I had Summit price match so I got free shipping.
