So your fuel pump was operating correctly?

ms3077 05-23-2010 04:58 PM

I think there are two possible reasons for why some motors blow here.

A. Driver ignorance / lack of attention – 1. Not letting the car warm up/ cool down properly. People are just jumping in the car and taking off after the cars been sitting for several hours. Some aren’t letting the car idle long enough before shutting down after long drives / hard drives. 2. Too much load on engine caused by too much throttle in lower revs. Some folks are too lazy to down shift.

B. Some motors are actually defective.

A stock fuel pump isn't going to cause your motor to blow dude. Were you on AP tune?

Oh I beg to differ.

With an aggressive tune and/or mods, the fuel pump cannot keep up and car knocks like a MF on cali 91 octane.

I have only a SRI and the AP.
With an aggressive ATR tune and cool weather, I can lose fuel pressure and begin to knock like crazy on the stock pump

knarfies 05-23-2010 11:00 PM

ya thats why im staying away from the ap since i have no clue how to tune it correctly.

or ill have dj tune it for me lol

mattizle14 05-24-2010 12:01 AM

it was a mixture of both...the fuel pump...tested it in a wot condition and was only producing max 1134psi...couldnt keep up and also i had defective injectors

kwsmithphoto 05-24-2010 12:29 AM

There go I, but for the grace of God.

As others have pointed out, you obviously have an issue with a part they didn't replace, and your timing jumped again. You might want to point that out since the failures were identical, busted valves/stock motor. You didn't toss a con rod through the block like most people do.

Good luck, bummer for the hassle (they gave you loaner car, yes?), and good luck with the new, new motor. It's all on the dealer now, they obviously missed a critical thing.

Why doesn't someone make a factory injector replacement. I hear a lot about bad injectors on this car. Really though, bad injectors? Why is that a weak point. I wonder if this has to do with ford meddling lol.

DISI injectors are expensive to make, and it makes it worse when its a motor with low production numbers like we have. When they switch the regular mz3 over to DISI like they were supposed to do last year, I bet you'll see them.

knarfies 05-24-2010 09:25 AM

WOW!!!

skeeter149 05-24-2010 10:24 AM

thats a whole lot of fail riker and picard just had to sit and witness.

Sorry to hear about your bad luck. Hopefully the dealership makes it right again---for good this time...
