GHL CBE

Hey guys,

Im looking at a decent deal on a GHL CBE. Has anyone had first hand experience with one? The video kills me when it whistles on high rpm but i am still interested. Not sure if the whistle is from the video quality or how it really sounds in person. Also hear some people had trouble with fitment. Wish i could get a cobb cbe but we know that is slim chances...

Any input on this exhaust would be great.

Thanks.

Dont get it. Its too loud and sounds like ass. I had one.. Either get a Corksport or look into another model is you want something that sounds good but it quiet and affordable.

I dunno if its true or not but i heard GHL was drone city! Good quality though!

They do offer one with a resonator that should make it quieter. Drone city is quiet ironic since they advertise it as "drone free".

I do second the CS recommendation, as their CBE is probably the best bang for the buck exhaust you can buy at $449. It's purdy too. :)

Okay back to the drawing board. Looks like ill be trying to get a cpe or corksport one then.

Thanks fellas. Saved me a $380-$400 headache (literally).

Oh yeah, that weird whistle thing it does at high rpm was really funky.

Any other reviews of this exhaust? It can be had for $480 shipped on ebay with the resonator. Sounds like a great deal.

I have one for my MS3 and love it! The only gripe I have is the fitment, Its a little "long" in the back causing the rear rubber hanger to touch the underside of the chassis. It doesnt rattle but the tip may stick out further than you like. It sits just about flush with the plastic lip on the rear bumper.

Not too loud?

paulwalll 01-10-2011 02:49 PM

ive been looking at exhausts for a while and i think the vibrant would be a good quieter one. Has anyone had it with a downpipe?

FULLBLOWN 01-10-2011 07:41 PM

Its definitly louder than stock, but if you stay out of the throttle its nice.

Dont forget their brilliant idea to go from three inches to a 2.5" inner diameter tip with a 4" outer.

Yea I have read about that. Though it sounds odd it may not have a huge effect. I'm looking for something only if it will actually help power wise, and if so I want it to also sound good. If there is no increase in power then I wont get one, but I think I am at the point mod wise where it may actually be beneficial. I may just go for a custom 3" exhaust as price will be same or cheaper, but noise will be unknown.
