Good EGT Gauge
 

Looking for an EGT gauge that works well but is also a good value!

Been eyeing the Prosport, it's only $120 bucks, matched the speedo perfectly pretty much, and has a memory function that can tell you the max EGT attained so you don't have to stare at the gauge all the time.

Sacrilicious has some gauges in the autometer cobalt series and says the blue contrasts the stock colors very well, so i am also considering that.

Anyways, my main question is, is the Prosport gauge/probe good? And if not...why... and what do you recommend?

I have a Defi gauge personally, but I have never heard of anyone breaking a EGT gauge so I think they are all probably about the same.

After looking at those gauges, get one that reads to at least 2000 degrees, the autometer only goes to 1600 and you will be pegging that gauge under higher boost pressures.

i have Defi link and highly recommend them. Cheap gauges are not accurate. If you are looking for valuable accurate data i'd get a good gauge and basically you get what you pay for.

just get defi.those are the only gauges i buy.

I have the VEI myself aaron and I like it a lot.The gauge color matches the car pretty good.

Get defi. Everything else, especially prosport, is shit and will break.

autometer does have one that goes higher than 1600 they have one that goes to 2400 i believe in the cobalt, autometer makes a very good gauge, DEFI are more ballar status than anything if you want something that works and won't break the bank and you won't have a problem with at all get the autometer.

well, i didn't take any of you guys' advice, and went with prosport lol. haltech has been using the prosport one with no issues so far at least

any idea of warranty will be affected if im buying it off you? if the probe goes bad or something i wanna be able to swap it out

like i said its bran new bought throught pg, im sure it still has the warranty

biggest issue with egt gauges is the probe breaking. If the probe you are using is thin and long its only a matter of time..... be careful

i saw a few people on the interwebs forums with this gauge. the few that had issues...the probe was in tact just fine I think, it was that it would start giving weird readings. Ill cross my fingas

mine has worked with no issues.Anything electronic can fail, i dont care whos name is stamped on it.

True. But I've ripped open several prosport gauges after they have failed and the quality of the parts inside leaves ALOT to be desired compared to higher end gauges like defi's.
