got some stuff installed, just want a smooth running car now

alright, yesterday i got a bunch of stuff installed, right now it looks like this: cobb dp, cpe rmm, cpe sri, cpe inlet, borla cbe. a turbosmart bpv will be put on in the next few days and i got a used aem boost gauge off ebay. all i really want next is the car to run smooth and not fuck around with it.

i've heard different opinions on what to do. some say a better fuelpump is a must, some say get an access port or a dashhawk to monitor things but i'd like some more input. again, i am not looking for moar powah, just a smooth running car.

your help is very much appreciated! thanks :Banane35:

i already mentioned a fp would be beneficial. a dh would be highly beneficial, i didn't know you had one.

I'd have to agree with Philly. The fuel pump would be beneficial with your mods.

Fuel pump= essential
AP and ATR = beneficial

Fuel pump is essential. But, do not fuck around with any of the crappy internals there are out there, if you're going to do it, do it right.. Go with the Cp-e assembled pump. PTP's assembled pump is teh fail lately.

m4tic 03-29-2010 09:34 AM

come on man thats the wrong thing to say and jumping on the fear mongering bandwagon... yes the cp-e pump is good, yes the ptp internals are good.... just coincidentally two ppl from the same batch have issues, no one before this and im sure john is rolling some heads... you cant say cp-e pumps have never failed, and also you cant say lately because you can barely get one from them

phillyb 03-29-2010 09:42 AM

gonna have to go with morris on this one.
john might have some fail right now, but that's a handful out of MANY satisfied customers.
blah blah blah.
internals vs preassembled pump.
blah blah blah.
ptp vs cpe

Fagwagon 03-29-2010 09:49 AM

I think the major fail with the PTP internals is merely the fact that the instructions arent very clear about the break in period. If this was explained a little better i may not have had any problems with mine...then again who knows i could have been ment for failure...

Anyway i'd still recommend getting the ptp internals over the pricey cpe pump..so get a FP and an AP i think you will be happy OP.

thanks for the input everyone! i think i'll check for a cp-e fuel pump then.
