ported the living shit out of the wg, took me 90 min but i made it baby smooth and removed alot of material. Going with the 14lb spring to start

btw stock turbo...shaft play like whoa, i cant believe the car mad 326 with this pos blown turbo on there...kinda explains why i have never been able to hold good boost

how bad? can the wheel touch the side?
I have 2 wobbly stockers myself, that both seem to be loose as shit, but cant hit the side
i was under the impression that was part of a journal bearings inherent problem vs bb

Journal bearings should have some play - oil getting in there reduces that play. They shouldn't hit the side though - are there markings on the housing? Was the turbo smoking?

Good luck with that big boy on there. I hope you removed the exhaust housing from the centre cartridge when porting the WG - otherwise that woulda been on helluva mess to clean.

i took the housing off the turbo and went to town on it. ITs like 6 botls and it just slide right off. Stupid easy

Others have ported them and still had creep to some extent. ATP is blaming full throttle flashes for causing the creep on thier turbos.

the creep thing makes sense honestly we never got creep with our speed6 and it didn't have the flash.

And you FINALLY are installing the damn thing I remember talking to you and ATP like EVERY day trying to figure out where all the damn parts were. did you ever get it all?

car is on low boost and rips. by 6000 its at 13-14 psi, but it takes a while to get there. if i load it up it will only hit 9-10 the slowly climb with rpms....not sure whats up with that

Your boost control opens the gate around 9-10 psi enough to settle boost in that range. The 13-14 psi you are hitting in the higher RPM range is creep.

Did you place a restrictor pill in the line going to the wastegate?

Yeah, but he's ported that gate good. Remember that although you have a 14lb spring in there doesn't mean the gate will open exactly at 14. Internal gates are notorious for poor boost control. An electronic controller would let you hit 14 and hold it much earlier in the RPM range. Even a manual boost controller would let you bring it to 14 much sooner than creep alone does.

Ive had my 35r in for about 2days now and GOOD LORD...!! That thing is 7-8psi(spring pressure) and is loud as fuck. It halls ass and Im still pretty rich (10/1 in the upper rpms) though I start a little on the lean side. Chris I got mad boost creep. In third gear I hit 12psi after 5500rpms.....you having that same issue?

12psi with an 8psi spring is not mad creep at all. Put in a cat and you'll hold that 8psi more steadily.

What im saying is he's not creeping if he's only maxing out at 14 psi since he has a 14 pound spring. He's expecting to go straight to 14 psi then it just settle there cause the internalgate opens but it wont happen like that. hell run your stock waste gate the same way and it hits 7-8 psi easily and crawls up to 11-12 psi. That sure as hell aint creep.

It's a diaphragm. He opens up the flapper at 8-9psi enough (with the help of exhaust gases pushing against it) to keep it there in the midrange. Finally, by 5500 RPM he makes enough exhaust to overcome the leak past the gate and pushes on to 14psi where the gate is now opened some more and holding it in there.

The gate starts opening much earlier than 14psi if it is meant to hold 14psi. The porting also doesn't help as now there is more exhaust pressure on the flapper and once it starts opening a little bit, more exhaust flows out than it did if it were not ported.

This is still a "form" of creep.

its not creaping i just did a 2nd through 4th, after the shift it just sstay btwn 10-12psi all the way to redline. I gotta hook up the standback and (i never though i would say this) get more boost in the midrange. A/f ratios were in the high 9s with meth, i had to lean that shit out lol

btw correct me if im wrong, wouldnt creep start once you exceed 14psi? I have a 14lb spring and never see over 14...so how is creeping?
