| Not Ranked : 0 score Received my knob today and it looks and feels great! However, upon installation, the darn thing would NOT screw down enough to eliminate the gap so I backed it out.... and off came the knob but left behind was the threaded insert. Now I need to figure out how to get that thing off the shifter without ruining the threads, then I figure I'll grease/oil it so it will screw down all the way. The reason I'm posting this is because the knowledge of what happened to me might be useful to others. Also, I could be doing something wrong so it wouldn't hurt to post my issue. I still have no clue what the long, flat, thin piece of metal is for.
