oh, it's coming. Just you wait...

lukeb0631 11-04-2009 01:36 PM

Are you sure they can anodize 303? As far as I know (which doesn't mean I know this for a fact) aluminum and titanium anodize, but not stainless.

It's not going to be annodized. They have a similar process for stainless. It's just easier to refer to it as annodized to keep it easy for people.

I'll be doing more work when I get back from SEMA. I have a lot of new ideas and products. I'm actually at APEXX which will bring you guys some cool parts from overseas.

tunersteve 11-04-2009 02:52 PM

Interested to see what you come up with. I can't stand the TWM personally, and the AutoExe is about the only thing I'd buy. I'm all for more options though.

Mush, I had one of those knobs in my Protege. Really nice and never got hot/cold.

Urkend 11-05-2009 06:09 AM

I'm definitely down for this. A knob+shift plate package would be awesome as well. I'd put money down today for that.

prenedo 11-05-2009 01:03 PM

I agree... Throw some shifter bushings and a shifter weight in the mix too

E4Performance 11-05-2009 01:28 PM

Well, lets see, after these are done, we will have the following products as a possible set:

Shifter
Knob
Shifter Weight

I guess we could make a shift plate. I'd say cost on that would be around $50

edit: Our shifter comes with the bushings unlike the other guys. If there is enough interest, we could do bushings seperate for like $15.

You guys sell the weight also? I'll be PM'ing you about that and bushings if so.

E4Performance 11-05-2009 03:06 PM

the weight will be ready very soon too

wankular 11-05-2009 03:22 PM

You mentioned a cover for when it's hot/cold outside. Will you be selling that separately for people who already like their knobs? That didn't sound right.......

I don't see why not. I'll have to order some extras.

Dash08 11-06-2009 11:52 PM

Don't forget who suggested the cover idea.
<<<<-----ahem
LOL!

06Speed6 11-07-2009 11:08 AM

Since its stainless, I wonder if you can ceramic coat it... that would probably keep it cool.

Good idea, but maybe a bit overkill lol powder coating maybe cheaper and just as effective?

Aetherfury 11-17-2009 02:26 PM

Still interested in seeing this

I have to be honest. I don't like the "Type R" shape.

FULLBLOWN 11-17-2009 07:23 PM

Indeed, but Ive always been a fan of ball shaped knobs.

reddeerspeed3 11-17-2009 07:47 PM

i'm sold

18psiWhiteMS3 11-18-2009 05:05 PM

superskaterxes 11-18-2009 05:15 PM

yah ball ftw, re do it with a ball style

E4Performance 11-18-2009 05:29 PM

No. This is the style that I am doing for now.

for the LOVE OF GOD!!!!!!!! please dont turn into raceroots. do you know why they are MIA and basicaly dunzo in this community? BECAUSE THEY DIDDENT LISTEN TO WHAT THE CUSTOMER WANTED!!!!

most of the people who responded in this thread told you they hate your design. so why the fuck would u make it anyway? make a new thread with a poll and have people vote on 3 different designs. pick the one the most people vote for and u will make money. dont be a retard please, im really getting sick of those kinds of vendors and your def not one of them so please dont become one.

i agree i dont like it either. i vote for a ball design.

nyghtryder 11-19-2009 06:13 AM

im for the ball design too

superskaterxes 11-19-2009 06:41 AM

i also like the ball with the little neck at the bottom as opposed to just a ball

vs

nyghtryder 11-19-2009 06:58 AM

agreed ball with neck looks the nicest

doubleflusher 11-19-2009 07:04 AM

If you're going to make a shift knob, use Delrin.

Aluminum gets too hot and too cold.

This one, from Cobb, is made of Delrin, but the threads are too far into the knob. It's too short.

BTW, I'm looking for a replacement.

Dash08 11-19-2009 07:05 AM

Nobody has a gun to your head forcing you to buy this particular shift knob.

If you want a ball type then go buy one. They're fucking everywhere.

Seriously fellas, ease up a bit, at least the guy is making an effort to bring us something functional and affordable.

We all appreciate what E4 is doing here, however once people saw the design they did not want or like it. It seems beneficial to me that if your going to make a product you may want to make sure your consumer is looking for that style otherwise your going to be sitting on alot of product that people dont want. Were actually trying to help.

I personally would like one thats identical to stock in shape, so thats why the ball is a good choice. Plus a type r style will be more difficult for those of us that hit the track on a regular basis to open palm shift. The ball fits nicely in your palm.

Dash08 11-19-2009 07:50 AM

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Personally, I think the ball type looks a little funky in the MS3. Doesn't fit the interior scheme. And let's face it, a shift knob is half appearance and half functional.

I understand what your saying, but at the same time, just because a few people didn't like it doesn't mean his market is dead by any means.

E4Performance 11-19-2009 09:02 AM

First off, if you look back on page 1 and 2, there are a lot of people that were interested in the type R shape. Second, this design is CONSIDERABLY heavier than the ball shape. Unless you want a knob the size of a tennis ball, I cannot get it even close to as heavy as this design. Function is number 1, I'm an engineer...

Once I sell some of these, I will look into a ball shape, but that's not top on the priority list. I want to do the 2 piece rotors.

jack_hammer 11-19-2009 10:23 AM

i don't know that i would ever feel the need to replace my shifter. <get your 6th grade humor ready> but if i did, it would not be a ball. it would not feel right in my hand.

boardjnky4 11-19-2009 02:43 PM

i like the type-r one!

turd burglar 11-19-2009 08:41 PM

Just a heavier stock style would be cool too. Love the look of stock just want more weight
