Help a fellow member decide what CP-E rear mount to get

I have been driving my MS3 with stock mount for a year already and really curious to know and feel how a CP-E rear mount can change the ride experience. :hmmmm:

Anybody care to help me have a ride on your MS3 CP-E rear mount installed car? I live in North Hollywood and thinking of having a small meet to test various CP-E rear mounts (60 duro vs. 75 duro).

I just want to feel the difference when compared to my stock MS3 car.

Please let me know if anyone is interested.

imagine being able to shift the car and not have the engine flop about.

thats what its like. i have the AWR 70duro. 0 vibes and does its job.

This is from AWR Racing site.
AWR Racing, Inc. - ENGINE MOUNT, REAR MAZDA3

It looks like Corksport Rear Mount Inserts to me. Isn't a CP-E rear mount better?

i second that. i had both in my car, no vibes with either, so might as well go with the stiffer one.

Chinsel 03-12-2010 04:58 PM

Even with the A/C on and on idle? No vibes?

ever so slight, but not bad enough to piss off my girl... wait till the mount breaks in.

Doc 03-12-2010 10:38 PM

ive had both.. destroyed the 60... in like 3 months...

75 I notice no more vibs... and its still going strong

the AWR is the stock mount with the old bushing pressed out. the mount is then stripped and powdercoated, 70 or 88 is pressed in and it it gets that bolt sleeve.

Its why its cheap, but it also fits like OE.

Just installed the CPE 75 duro a few weeks ago and I'm happy with it. Slight vibes, mostly at idle and at certain RPM when cruising around and shifting, but it's really not bad at all. I kinda like having the extra vibes. Makes the car feels sportier to me. It has reduced wheel hop, but hasn't eliminated it. It still exists and my ETS intercooler shroud still smacks the plastic above my firewall. Not sure there is any way to completely eliminate wheel hop in this car. Replace all the mounts maybe? I did notice that the steering feels tighter and more precise with the RMM in. I don't know if this is my imagination or what, but I can swear the car just feels more solid up front.

This thread makes me smile lol. I bought socks cp-e 75 duro mount and wanted to swap someone for the 60 but definitely not now. Can't wait to install it

Chinsel 03-15-2010 11:55 AM

I just bought the CP-E 75 duro and take the risk. I hope this doesn't start to rattle all of the interior pieces in my cabin like instrument rattle, cowl rattle, and etc.

nynhex 03-15-2010 12:53 PM

I'm considering switching from CS inserts to the CP-E 75. Does anyone have it in stock right now? I'm still getting a bit of engine rock/wheel hop with the inserts so I'd like to try something a bit stiffer.

Nliiitend1 03-18-2010 05:20 PM

I've never had a 75 on my car, but I find the 60 adequate. :dunno:

It used to vibrate at idle with the A/C running, but now that it's "broken in" a bit I don't notice it at all.

mtxandy 03-18-2010 05:33 PM

60 and like it. I only race to work and not on the track though

I just installed mine today, CP-E 75 duro. Vibration is minimal. The vibration gets stronger story when you are in idle around 800-1100 RPM, especially with the A/C on. Sometimes when my windows are all closed the vibration generates a deafening noise in the cabin (repeated low frequency sound like coming from a loud subwoofer facing the glass) . Other than that, the drive is really good. No more jerking when shifting 1-2 or 2-3. It really makes a difference.

For me, I am aiming for a daily driver set up. Therefore, I just want a good drive feel minus the vibration. Anyway, I am giving it 2 weeks to settle and hope the idle vibration goes away. If not, I might step back to a lower durometer or use Corksport Inserts on my stock mount, and sell my CP-E 75 duro.

BTW, my stock mount is still in perfect condition. No tears or rips whatsoever. I am currently at 17K miles.

I ended up ordering an SU RMM (Street) so we'll see how that goes. Couldn't find a CP-e anywhere in stock. My CS inserts are doing ok, but I want a bit less hop/engine rock.

Rather than give it a time limit, give it 1000 miles. That's the general mileage you need to really break new mounts in. Vibrations will subside a lot in 1000 miles.

Chinsel 03-23-2010 02:45 PM

1000 miles. Gotcha! I will do that and let you know if vibrations subside.

Fratman 03-23-2010 10:16 PM

SU RMM FTW

Chinsel 03-24-2010 02:58 AM

I ran through the canyons last night. Whew! It was fun and CP-E mount shines when the car is driven fast. I barely felt the vibes when there is no traffic.

Getting stuck in traffic is a different story. I am forced to slowly accelerate the car in which the car gets more vibration than it should.
