im guessing you dont know the code either?

could be alot of things. id check the hoses, intake, tb again though. did you mess with anything else? you probably just knockjed something loose while the car was down. is the o2 sensor ok?

its probably an easy fix if you give us the code it threw.

aaronc7 09-22-2008 07:04 PM

did you use any of that copper gasket spray stuff? I did when I did my DP install and it smoked REALLY bad for the first 10 minutes idling and AFRs were super rich and it ran terrible..was just burning that shit off, then it ran fine

ev0nstispanka 09-22-2008 07:18 PM

well my cel is flashing 7x now. i dont know if that helps..i feel like selling my speed3. I put everything back too...o man..what can i do guys??

ev0nstispanka 09-22-2008 07:18 PM

You feel like selling your MS3 because you modified your car and flopped on the PG Manifold install? What kind of lame excuse is that, lol. Just man up and fix it, then kindly :bryce:

Darksun280 09-22-2008 07:31 PM

Flashing cell is a misfire. Check your coil packs see if the main harness to them is plugged in or burned or something. And you said road side assistance? Did the car start and drive then die or you still where you are for the install?

ev0nstispanka 09-22-2008 07:53 PM

Grim 09-22-2008 07:54 PM

Lymerock 09-22-2008 07:56 PM

sounds dumb but did you disconnect the battery before the install? If the maf is dead the car wont stay on if you grounded somehting out who knows. I'm guessing maf is mess up somehow or its your ignition system. since its the flashing cell I'm leaning towards ignition.

ev0nstispanka 09-22-2008 07:57 PM

where do i get it from??? Mazda?? part #? Thats funny because that was the one that i took off and it was pitch black.

Are you talking about the spark plugs? If so, search around and you'll find Mazdaspeed3 spark plugs on either dabears2k.com or streetunit.com :pat:

ev0nstispanka 09-22-2008 09:22 PM

anything else that will cause this guys?? I just cancelled the roadside so that i can try this tomorrow AM. Hopefully it is. If not then off to mazda to get it fixed and to get my warranty voided.

Joshj84 09-22-2008 09:26 PM

how old r u? Go to autozone and get a code reader? um go get spark plugs and change them out? um stop with the warranty shit sheesh.

SgtP 09-22-2008 09:27 PM

i would give new plugs a shot. you should be able to get them at a shop around your area. keep us updated!

Grim 09-22-2008 09:37 PM

if anything i would just try a code reader, that would tell you at least whats wrong and you can start from there

ev0nstispanka 09-22-2008 09:50 PM

Well, while he's being a smart ass, you're looking like a dumb ass, it seems like you're just not trying any of the above mentioned and still complaining about it not working.....

its not a bad spark plug cause a car would still run even with a bad plug instant misfire code means a coil pack is out. Like I said did you disconnect the battery before doing the work cause you could have fried one of them or something weird.

yea i disconnected it before. n i did take out just one plug n it looked pitch black..like as if my car had 60k on it and not 16k.lol. HOpefully it is. Anything is better than taking it over to mazda.:22:

ev0nstispanka 09-23-2008 12:10 AM

n if the coil pack is out? do i get that from Mazda? u got pricing? just curious.

SgtP 09-23-2008 03:22 AM

i dont think we have an aftermarket solution for the coil packs yet.

Joshj84 09-23-2008 07:33 AM

Evo try speaking normal. (not spankin much now are yah! :P)

Coilpacks are 92 bucks each I think? Worse case scenario try to find a local speed3 and just swap out his coilpacks for yours and there you go. But its not a coilpack issue. I had a bad coilpack in cylinder #2 and the car would start fine. Just whenever I got into boost i'd have issues.

I can be a smartass when you are reacting to the situation poorly and typing even worse. WE are here to help but you have to try what we tell you or else we can't diagnose the problem.

I tried that too man, changed all spark plugs...car starts and then dies..like this..

turns on..sputter sputter, then turns off.

I hear air leaking too...sounds like a vacuum hose is loose or disconnected. Any ideas??

ev0nstispanka 09-23-2008 11:44 AM

i just checked all the hoses and i see everything connected. Is there one that runs under the car?

bykeryder4life 09-23-2008 02:20 PM

do the coilspring stretch mod while you have the coilpacks out and get a good connection in there. After that you could go to autozone and they will read the code for you for free and you'll see exactly which cylinder it is and go from there. dont trip just go one step at a time over everything and you'll get it worked out. I too am 20 and understand how frustrating it can be when stuff like this happens and you really need to get it fixed so you can drive the damn thing....

MTuning 09-23-2008 03:28 PM

have you tried going back to the source? it was running fine before the install correct? are all the bolts tight? did you use all new gaskets on all metal surfaces that were taken off? have you checked the O2 sensors to make sure its connected and back on tight at the bungs? (if you took them off) i dont know the steps on how you did the install but its usually the silly things. i've had moments where one wire that wasn't ground tight kept a car from starting. go through the simple stuff like air, fuel, and spark. you can test it and diagnosis it from there.

arkenzo 09-23-2008 03:33 PM

I was told that Autozone doesn't lend out the OBD-I/OBD-II scanners anymore.

MTuning 09-23-2008 03:37 PM

they should be a "rent-a-tool" item, where you give them a deposit that you wouldnt run away with it lol and you get it back when you bring the tool back to them.

Not in california, they do not rent out any scanners in california, reason being, many mechanic shops felt like their pockets got alittle thinner ever since autozone started renting out the scanners.

I think it's bullshit for california to ban autozone from lending the scanners, but in reality, a shop will charge you $35 just to run diagnostics on your car.....times that by how many people have rented that scanner and you can see it adds up to enough money for mechanic shops to be pissed off about

ev0nstispanka 09-23-2008 07:23 PM

damn..well i feel like i checked everything.. i dont think if 1 BOLT IS LOOSE thst i shouldnt have a problem. im all good roadside is gonna tow my pos...im crossin my fingers

ev0nstispanka 09-23-2008 07:27 PM

n all my plugs was pitch black
