HELP!! oil level with bsd and oil sump trey

so long story short i got my engine rebuilt and had bsd and oil pan trey shit put in. i know it takes lots more oil now and stuff. should the level on the dip stick still be used or is there a diff way to check my oil now. ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?:feedback:

heres the issue..... im going to get my hair cut(its dark outside) and i hit a small deer or fox or bever, large squirrl, possum, or small child or some shit whatever. loud clunk clunk under the car it goes. im like fuck it im gonna keep going. well like 5-6 miles latter i smell funny stuff(cant really describe it) well i also have spin on conversion and it hangs lower so i thought maybe it broke or something and im leaking oil. so i stop and look under the car hahahahaha i see a leg or something and some hair and like guts and shit hung up underthe car. well no oil leaking that i can see but i clean the dip stick off put it back in whit a sec pull it out DRY no oil. so i do it 2-3 time still no oil. FMMFL WTF!!!!1 so i drove the 3 miles home and parked it.

its 1145 now and i gotta BE at work by 5 am and its a 24 hour day tomm. so no time to check it tonight ill just drive my jetta.

You still check it with the dipstick, it will read exactly the same. You just hold a larger amount of oil now because that big ass balance shaft assembly isn't filling up half the oil pan...

You KEPT driving after finding out you had no oil?

wait a hour or 2 for the oil to work its way back down to the pan then check. i did the same thing checked it after 1 hour drive (right after) and it was low put a quart or so in wasfull. let it sit 1 or 2 hours checked it before leaving (cold motor) and was over 1-2 quarts... hope that helps and make sence.

BSD allows you to hold an additional quart of oil, also depending what filter you are using with the spin-on, you can hold even more.

You still have to fill her up to the full mark on the dipstick. Otherwise you may suck air.

Any updates?

You took a big risk driving home, if the stick was coming back dry.
